Comments about Cover Girl TruMagic Mini Skin Perfector:

I picked this up because I was curious. I want to try the Mally clear anti-shine face product, but the price of this is much nicer.

To those who are having makeup issues with this: You may be using too much or applying it wrong.

With this product, less is more. You don't need to use much at all. Swipe the included sponge *lightly* across the TruMagic Skin Perfector pan. Because it's clear and the sponge is white, you may not be able to see anything on the sponge, but it's there. Then gently *-PAT-*, I repeat, *-PAT-* the product on your face where ever you are shiny. DO NOT rub, wipe, or swipe the sponge across your face because that will cause your makeup to move around and look blotchy.

I find the best use for the TruMagic Skin Perfector is mid-afternoon touch-ups. I'm usually rather oily around midday, no matter what. If I dab a bit of this stuff on my face after I get oily, it seems to do a good job of keeping me matte for the next several hours.

I like that I only need very little for this product to work. I don't know that it makes my skin look perfect, but it does give me a nice velvety finish. If used correctly, this product (and your matte look) should last a good long time.

Comments about Cover Girl TruMagic Mini Skin Perfector:

Does little more than turn my makeup into an unholy mess. Even if dabbed on gently, it makes any pigmented coverage cake up, leaving streaks and highlighting pores. Even if it did do its job, this product is a waste of money as I've only used it twice and I have hit pan! Would not recommend.

Didn't work on top or under my makeup. If you apply after you have foundation on, it causes you to look cakey and blotchy.

I love to use this on top of my makeup, it just keeps me matte longer than powder! It a cheaper version of Mally Beauty's Face Defender! I use this and powder and I stay matte for at least 4 hours, which is awesome, for a very oily oily person. I wouldn't recommend this for a person with dry skin.

I have used it on top of my makeup and it does mattify and blurs imperfections. I have normal to oily skin and specially in this season i tend to get shinier.I don't think it lasts that long but it's easy to carry and apply and budget friendly (great advantage)

Comments about Cover Girl TruMagic Mini Skin Perfector:

I purchased the TruMagic Skin Perfector in 100 and the product was a major disappointment based on it's intended use. Some of it's highlighted claims are "controls shine, non-greasy, soft smoth finish, apply throughout the day for quick toughups just like a pressed powder."

I've tried various applications: dry and wet use with the included round sponge, dry and wet with a makeup wedge, and with my fingertips. I tried swiping it on in a downward motion, patting it on, and buffing it on. I tried it under liquid makeup and over it. Each time, when makeup is put on top of the mattifier it emphasizes pores or any textured patches of skin. It feels great going on, true to "soft and smooth" because it's very slippery, so you think that makeup aplication will be smooth. But as soon as anything is applied on top, it clings and bunches up on any imperfections. Applied over foundation, it picks up and moves the products around for a more uneven finish so I would not say touchups are quick, nor like a pressed powder.

So yes, the TruMagic Perfector does mattify, but it can not be worn with a makeup base without degrading the application process. The only uses that this product excels at is as a stand-alone perfector/mattifier without any other makeup product or, as I found by trial and error, as a lip product base to smooth lip texture, or to make application of dried out or matte formulas very easy and smooth, and it helps form a barrier to keep lips from chapping from matte products. However, because I did not purchase the product with that intent and because it's stated function falls short of it's claim, I would not repurchase it.

I got a sample of the skin perfector from a set that included clump crusher. I used it as a primer for my foundation. Everything was sliding everywhere. Horrible as a primer

This was not worth my money. I would not purchase again. It was clumpy and did not go on smooth. I needed another primer on top of this to get the job done.

This came close to being a holy grail product for my oily skin. It definitely kept my oil under control and my face wasn't as shiny as it usually gets but it broke me out bad! Had to toss it

Comments about Cover Girl TruMagic Mini Skin Perfector:

I thought this would be like Mally Face Defender, which I love, and it is not. This cannot be worn over makeup at least not with the sponge ... it lifts your makeup off with it and leaves your skin very dry and chalky looking. Before I give up on this product altogether, I'm going to put it on as a primer and try that ... I saw that emilynoel83 on youtube said that it made her foundation go on really nicely when used as a primer. If you want a clear pressed powder, I would highly recommend the Face Defender.
