I need a very lightweight, compact, dual-voltage ionic hair dryer. This mets the structural criteria perfectly, but was a great disappointment when it came to performance. The Low setting produced a too-strong blast of too-high heat that dried-out my fine hair and diminished its natural shine and body. The defuser reduced the strength of the blow, but not the temperature, and the results were equally undesirable. Even if the defuser had solved the performance problem, its bulky size would have created another when packing.

This blow dryer is super light, and very powerful.
My thick hair drys in a few minutes with this. I used to have to reserve 30 minutes to blow out my hair - with this it's been more like 18-20 minutes.
