Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I have light brown hair that I dyed a darker brown. It ended up black. This product did not do what it said it would, even after two applications, two boxes each application. Also, it has a horrible smell, like an old style perm. I wouldn't recommend this product at all.

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I was hesitant to use this product but I'm so glad I did. I've always been a blonde and sometimes feel the need to try and darken my hair on my own. To make a long story short, I went from blonde to a chesnut brown that had too much red so I had a professional tone it down. She left me with a dark brown on top that looked almost black, then added hightligts to lighten the look. It was hideous, and very upsetting. I left it for a week and only wore it up until I discovered color oops. Followed the instructions exactly and BAM- My honey blonde locks were back! No damage to my hair, it actually feels better. Dont' wait, use color oops. Make sure you rinse for 20 minutes!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

Background: I've had ombre hair (ranging from brown at roots to lighter brown to golden dark blond at ends) for the past 2 years and decided to change it up for winter. I have dyed my hair at home many times from the box and never had an issue. I chose a dark ash brown color. It turned out JET BLACK. Not a hint of brown and very flat one dimensional black. I thought I could get used to it but I woke up the next morning feeling like Morticia Adams (my boyfriend actually made the comparison as well). I rushed to Ulta (it was also on sale in store!) and performed the directions EXACTLY as they were on the box. I let Color Oops process for about 25 minutes and then rinsed for an additional 20 minutes, shampooing my hair with Tresemme anti-breakage shampoo EIGHT times. I followed with Ulta's ultimate brunette glaze. I styled my hair and it is the PERFECT color now. It did NOT go back to my ombre but is a uniform, deep brown with warm golden highlights where my ombre/balayage pieces had been before. No orange and no breakage. My hair is super soft and actually looks and feels healthier than it did before the botched dye job. The only negative thing was it does not smell very good BUT unlike the other posters, I was able to get the smell out after rinsing. My hair smells good and like my shampoo and I just performed the process yesterday. PS- hint for those who have complained about the lengthy rinse time- I applied a face mask once I had put my hair into the shower cap (included) so it was [almost] like a at home "spa" day and helped offset how long the entire process was.

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

Accidentally dyed my naturally auburn brown hair "warm chestnut", and it turned out flat black. The night before my birthday. I didn't want to try to get in to see or pay for a stylist to fix it. Stopped by the local drug store and bought the extra strength Color Oops. The texture when mixed is very watery and was hard to apply without dripping. The smell others say is strong and awful was mild to me. Not a big deal. One bottle barely covered my shoulder length hair, but I couldn't stop mid-process to buy another box. After 20 minutes I rinsed as directed and shampooed twice. The harsh black was gone at my scalp and around my face, leaving a reddish version of my natural color. The ends are still dark, but overall it looks well blended and pretty. Well worth the $ spent!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I colour my hair at home. Most of the time home hair colour works very well for me. After six months and multiple colourings I sometimes find I need to go back to square one and restart my colour. Enter Color Oops. It clears out the overdye and leaves a blank canvas for fresh colour. If you use this product be sure to allow enough time to allow Color Oops to work and more time to immediately recolor your hair. Color oops works very well and won't "fry" your hair.

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I've colored my hair for years. Each time it seemed to get darker and looked muddy on the ends. I always colored with shades of brown to cover grey roots. Needed a change and was really skeptical to try such a product since less than 3 years ago, I was sporting the NO hair look from chemo treatments. Not ready for a cut so a new color was the next best option. I never thought I would get the dark color out of my hair. Unbelievable were the results. My hair returned to a spicy brown shade. It was easy to use and didn't smell nearly as bad as others mentioned. I have used shampoos that smelt worse. As for the rinsing, enjoy the time in the hot shower. How bad can that be!! Enjoy your new look. Go for it!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I read TONS of reviews and watched almost as many Youtube videos before purchasing and using Color Oops, and I was still procrastinating actually using the product. Some said it didn't work, but that's because they are uneducated about hair color. Even if you only darkened your hair, every permanent hair dye I know of contains peroxide to make it work. You are NOT going to return to your natural color without growing it out naturally. My story....I've been coloring my hair for...we'll call it 20 years. For the past 10 years, I've been a coppery redhead with highlights....which looks awesome, except I have to do my roots every 2 weeks, because if I let it grow out, I would have almost all white hair. Not gray....WHITE. So after a week, it starts to look like I have a wide part and it only gets worse. FIRED! Since I was a light blond as a child, I've decided to revisit those days by going platinum. If I had used the usual bleach process, it would have taken more than one session. With Color Oops, I was able to lift a LOT of the color. Now, except for those highlights that reappeared, it's a light muted copper...a perfect palette for the blond. I'm going to wait a few days, because it doesn't look bad now and I want to give it a rest. My hair is pretty damaged from coloring, so I was pretty nervous. So this is how I did it....

After following all the instructions, I used Neutrogena clear shampoo. It clarifies without too much drying, so my hair felt squeaky clean but still had elasticity. Then I used Neutrogena's Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask and left that on for about a half hour or so. You could leave it for more time, but that half hour was enough for me.

What people are saying about the smell....it's not really that horrible. What did you expect? It's got sulfur in it. So it smells like a citrus fart for awhile. Get over it. LOL

          Bottom line...great product. Buy it!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

So I decided to dye my naturally dark brunette hair red for halloween. I didn't do the best job so I got this product in hopes that it would remove the redness from my hair. I had no other dye in my hair. This product is clearly designed to take light hair that was dyed dark back to it's light shade because instead of returning my hair to a brunette color, I am now a lighter red head. Frankly, I am pretty displeased with the outcome however to be fair to the product, it was not specifically designed for what I needed. If you have naturally dark hair, be very careful with this product. I did do a strand test that looked pretty good, but when I did my whole head, the top of it is a particularly stunning shade of copper. I have very thick long hair and one bottle was plenty of product for me. It really doesn't smell that bad. I used coconut oil and a deep conditioning treatment after rinsing for 30 minutes. My hair feels fine though my scalp feels tight and dry. Good luck!

I have been coloring my hair with Nice n Easy 112B which is really bright red, for about 2 years. I followed the instructions to the letter - the rinsing is very very important, as i noticed it orange as i was rinsing, but kept up for 15 mins and it took that out also! Also used the deep conditioner tube that comes with Nice n Easy the whole tube, and my hair was not damaged at all. Came out blonde and looks and feels great! Highly recommended. I can wait about a week to color it, as it really looks good!
