Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I've colored my hair for years. Each time it seemed to get darker and looked muddy on the ends. I always colored with shades of brown to cover grey roots. Needed a change and was really skeptical to try such a product since less than 3 years ago, I was sporting the NO hair look from chemo treatments. Not ready for a cut so a new color was the next best option. I never thought I would get the dark color out of my hair. Unbelievable were the results. My hair returned to a spicy brown shade. It was easy to use and didn't smell nearly as bad as others mentioned. I have used shampoos that smelt worse. As for the rinsing, enjoy the time in the hot shower. How bad can that be!! Enjoy your new look. Go for it!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I read TONS of reviews and watched almost as many Youtube videos before purchasing and using Color Oops, and I was still procrastinating actually using the product. Some said it didn't work, but that's because they are uneducated about hair color. Even if you only darkened your hair, every permanent hair dye I know of contains peroxide to make it work. You are NOT going to return to your natural color without growing it out naturally. My story....I've been coloring my hair for...we'll call it 20 years. For the past 10 years, I've been a coppery redhead with highlights....which looks awesome, except I have to do my roots every 2 weeks, because if I let it grow out, I would have almost all white hair. Not gray....WHITE. So after a week, it starts to look like I have a wide part and it only gets worse. FIRED! Since I was a light blond as a child, I've decided to revisit those days by going platinum. If I had used the usual bleach process, it would have taken more than one session. With Color Oops, I was able to lift a LOT of the color. Now, except for those highlights that reappeared, it's a light muted copper...a perfect palette for the blond. I'm going to wait a few days, because it doesn't look bad now and I want to give it a rest. My hair is pretty damaged from coloring, so I was pretty nervous. So this is how I did it....

After following all the instructions, I used Neutrogena clear shampoo. It clarifies without too much drying, so my hair felt squeaky clean but still had elasticity. Then I used Neutrogena's Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask and left that on for about a half hour or so. You could leave it for more time, but that half hour was enough for me.

What people are saying about the smell....it's not really that horrible. What did you expect? It's got sulfur in it. So it smells like a citrus fart for awhile. Get over it. LOL

      Bottom line...great product. Buy it!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

So I decided to dye my naturally dark brunette hair red for halloween. I didn't do the best job so I got this product in hopes that it would remove the redness from my hair. I had no other dye in my hair. This product is clearly designed to take light hair that was dyed dark back to it's light shade because instead of returning my hair to a brunette color, I am now a lighter red head. Frankly, I am pretty displeased with the outcome however to be fair to the product, it was not specifically designed for what I needed. If you have naturally dark hair, be very careful with this product. I did do a strand test that looked pretty good, but when I did my whole head, the top of it is a particularly stunning shade of copper. I have very thick long hair and one bottle was plenty of product for me. It really doesn't smell that bad. I used coconut oil and a deep conditioning treatment after rinsing for 30 minutes. My hair feels fine though my scalp feels tight and dry. Good luck!

I have been coloring my hair with Nice n Easy 112B which is really bright red, for about 2 years. I followed the instructions to the letter - the rinsing is very very important, as i noticed it orange as i was rinsing, but kept up for 15 mins and it took that out also! Also used the deep conditioner tube that comes with Nice n Easy the whole tube, and my hair was not damaged at all. Came out blonde and looks and feels great! Highly recommended. I can wait about a week to color it, as it really looks good!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

Some tips: definitely buy two boxes, just in case, unless your hair is very short. My hair comes to just below my collar bone and I run out of the first box a little more than half way through. After researching this product, I read all the horrible things about the smell. My thoughts when I started the application were "oh yeah this smells but its not nearly as bad as they said." Then, about half way through to the end my thoughts were, "oh wait...there it is....my eyes are buuurning!!" So yeah, don't be fooled. It also won't show results until about 5 to ten minutes of application so don't freak out if it doesn't seem to be working right away. And like everyone else says, rinse until you can't rinse anymore then rinse for five more minutes. Use a deep conditioning treatment for sure and be prepared to have your hair smell weird for about a week or so.
My hair experience: My hair is fine but I have a lot of it. I've used this product twice, both times after dying it an auburn shade. It did not turn my hair back to its original light brown. It ended up being a really cool strawberry blonde that I liked so much, I'm currently using it to get that color back!
Highly recommend this but just be aware that your hair might not be exactly the color it was before the dye.

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I tried Color Oops for a single application in HOPES that it would be a safer alternative to bleach and ammonia. I swore off bleach years ago and was trying to go blonde over 6 months because I didn't care if I had a nice color hair if it had irrefutable damage. So I figured this product would do the trick. After reading extensive reviews and a few YouTube videos I figured, "Okay what can it hurt?" Boy was I wrong... Aside from barely taking any hair color out at all, which is normal because I have layers of dye...MY HAIR IS NOW FALLING OUT AT A RAPID RATE!!! I have about a quarter of the hair that I used to. I feel like less of a woman. I used to have such thick hair!!! I would recommend this product to my worst enemy.

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

Okay so out of impulse, I stupidly decided to dye my beautiful blonde hair a dark brown color. Well my hair was so porous from all of the highlighting that it turned jet black. It looked awful and I hated it so much. I used this product about a week after dying my hair. It turned into like a golden brown with blonde highlights. Not bad considering how hard black hair dye is to get out. So while using this product, just have realistic expectations and don't expect black hair to turn back into a bright blonde, but it did lighten my hair about five shades so I am happy!

Comments about Color Oops Hair Color Remover:

I would like to start out by saying I have used Color Oops twice and both times I LOVED it.
Over the summer I decided to dye my light highlighted hair dark chocolate brown. Well, the dye turned my shiny thick hair into a burgundy mess. I was so upset that I had sacrificed months of effort trying to get my hair to the light shade it was, only to end up with this purple tinted shade. After three days of mopping I remembered seeing Color Oops in the store. I decided to do some research and saw that the reviews seemed pretty positive. I ran out and bought two boxes (long hair, thick too) and tested a strand first. I was ecstatic to see how well it got the brown dye out of the one strand and quickly applied it to my whole head. BAM back to the highlights I had missed.
As the summer progressed I continued highlighting my hair and by early september I had achieved my blonde goal. Then... I impulsively glazed it dark brown. A glaze is not meant to be permanent, not even semi-permanent. I was told it would wash out in 8-12 shampoos but it had barely begun to fade after five weeks. Annoyed, I went to Ulta and repurchased Color Oops (Ol' Faithful). This afternoon I put the smelly product all over my hair (it's only con and really it's not so bad since the results are flawless), and after 20 minutes of processing and 15 minutes of rinsing I am happy to say my highlights have returned.
So all in all: It's amazing, but follow the instructions!! Color Oops shrinks the hair dye particles so they can be rinsed out. It is SO SO SO important to shampoo and shampoo and shampoo while rinsing this out of the hair. I always add dish soap (Palmolive) to my shampoo when rinsing out Color Oops. It strips the hair and it slightly harsh so be SURE to deep condition after rinsing. Rinse for 15 minutes and style as usual... hair will be gorgeous.
Note: The box states this but I see so many reviews complaining about this even though the company warns it's users--> this does not work on funky direct dyes (manic panic, purple, green, pink etc.)
Also--> I recommend this if you have dyed your hair dark and wish to go back to a previous lighter color. Way better than dying dark and then re-highlighting. Use this first... will get you back to (or close to) your original or prior color.

Im 40 years old and have been box dying my hair for over 25 years, this is definately the easiest product ive ever used!!! I normally use the lighest blonde I can find but ever year I decide to go red, auburn to be exact.. Last time I bleached my hair to get the red out and it was horrible, burned my head, was time consuming , harsh, etc..This time i used color oops extra strength and all I did was mix, shampoo into my head , even adding a little water to stretch it out because my hair is to my bra line but on the thinner side, and after 20 minutes my hair was blonde again ..It works great, would recommend to anyone , will definately use in the future!!So easy and quick. The smell was tolerable especially for one used to blonde products for years ..
