I love how this sponge blends both of my foundation and concealer flawlessly. This gives me a natural finish and blends every product. In my opinion it is better than the beautyblender since it is cheaper, great quality and has a flat side so you can set the product better. I will replace my beautyblender for this. Definitely.

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

I originally bought a beauty blender and had been using that regularly but needed a new one. I stumbled upon this sponge and had heard good things about it (and real techniques in general), but it just does not compare. When used wet, this sponge virtually covers no spots or blemishes on your face and it almost appears as if you put no product on your fact. When used dry, the sponge is very dense and you have to push down kind of forcefully to blend the product. I feel as though I am pulling and tugging my skin unnecessarily and it is not the most gentle product. With that being said, using it dry does offer enough coverage that I am happy with the result.

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

I've used the SWISSCO Precision Blending Sponge, and loved it. Unfortunately, Ulta was out of that sponge when I went to get another so I tried this one. I was somewhat disappointed - my skin is sensitive, so I need to wash my beauty blenders about every other use. The SWISSCO one I had for almost 3 months before deciding I needed a new one ; this blender, however, started to flake and fall apart after just 2 washes. I tried to keep using the other side of the sponge but it continued to flake worse with each wash and application, so I just ended up throwing it away after about 3 weeks.

It had been a while since I got a new liquid foundation sponge and I'm glad I choose this one! It's so soft and covers perfectly. Most sponges absord your makeup but this one doesn't. It makes you use the most out of your product!

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

I love this beauty blender! I am a big fan of the RT brushes and have been using them since they first came out. I didn't notice that they had released this beauty blender until I noticed a couple of people on YouTube using it. For the price, it's awesome! Very soft and lightweight, distributes product evenly, and gives a flawless finish (especially when damp).
One of the best parts is that one side has a flat edge, which is great for the under eye area! Overall, I totally recommend this for the price and quality!

Can you use this sponge to apply syrums eye creams and moisturizers? If so how should I apply those? Should I use one for my makeup and a separate one else for skincare ?

That is a great question! This little sponge has so many wonderful uses & we just keep coming up with more! However, we actually do not recommend that you use it with any type of skin lotions or serums. Typically, those types of product have a thicker consistency than the sponge can handle and may clog it up, which could lead to it not being a hygienic as it normally should be. If you have a very light serum, you could use it in small amounts under your eye, using the space right near the point of the sponge (use more of the side of the sponge, not the actual point – we don't want you to poke your eye out! :-) ). If you are going to use light serums on your sponge, make sure you use a separate one for your makeup and make sure you clean the serum sponge every time you use it!

                A:

This sponge can be cleaned easily using a brush cleaner or mild shampoo. Simply wet the sponge, apply the brush cleaner/shampoo, and massage to create a lather. Rinse thoroughly, squeeze out excess water, and allow to fully dry. We recommend cleaning your sponge at least once weekly, and more frequently if you have acne-prone skin.

I currently use an all natural foundation, but my skin is very oily. Does this product work well with all foundations? Also, what foundation and primer do you recommend for oily skin? Should I apply more foundation or less? I have a hard time making my make up last for more than a few hours. Help!

                A:

The Miracle Complexion Sponge works best with foundations that are more liquid; however, it can be used with all types of foundation. Even pressed powder foundations are able to be used.

How often is it recommended to replace this sponge fora new one?

              • Staff Expert

                A:

This depends on how frequently you use the sponge. If you use it every day and/or wear a lot of foundation/concealer/powder, you should replace minimally every 30-45 days. If you are lighter makeup wearer and/or use the sponge 3-5 times a week, you can extend that time out to every 45-60 days.

                From Real Techniques:

"As with most of our items in the Real Techniques line, the 'beauty' is that you can use these however you like best! If you like to use the Miracle Complexion Sponge dry with liquid, go for it! Wet with powder -- awesome! It does really depend on the look you're going for and the product(s) you're using. The feedback we get most often on this fabulous item is that many of our customers like to use it damp with liquid foundation. However you use it, if you love it (and clean it regularly), we can't ask for much more!"
