Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

I was a little skeptical to try this because I have been using brushes to apply foundation forever. However, one use and I was hooked. It applies my foundation evenly and smoothly. I use Benefit's Hello Flawless foundation and it works great with it. Just wet it a little under water, squeeze the excess out and use. Works best if washed daily - I used a brush moisturizing shampoo/cleanser and it cleans easily. I noticed if I don't clean it after a couple of uses, the left over makeup dries it out and the sponge can get crumbly. Using the moisturizing cleanser prevents that.

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

I could not bring myself to spend $20 on a sponge, even though I've heard great things about the BeautyBlender. I found this instead and I'm wondering why I haven't been applying concealer with a sponge all these years! I never liked liquid concealers because I have very oily skin with acne, but this changed that. It blends so well with your natural skin tone, so all of the places that I don't have zits look flawless. BUT, like I said, my skin isn't that great so after I'm done applying all over concealer with the sponge I use a full coverage concealer to cover spots and blemishes. Love this thing!

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

What I love most about this product (besides the price) is that it blends my concealer in perfectly and pushes my foundation into my skin so that it looks natural. This is the only sponge I've tried and it's the only one I'll buy from now on. I've purchased this twice now. They do get dirty and the stains don't come out after awhile, but for $6 -- it's worth it. Mine lasted about 6 months.

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

I absolutely love this! I used to use the Sephora brand Beauty Blender and I'd have to pay 20$ every time I needed a new one... The Real Techniques Sponger is SO much better (and at a great value)! I love how it has the flat and pointy sides so I can get the best blend. (I used the flat for foundation and pointy for concealing.)I would buy this again and again and again.

This sponge blends foundation so beautifully and exceeds the results of a foundation brush. It's so much more affordable than a Beauty Blender and the shape is infinitely better. Makeup goes on so quickly and smoothly, you'll never use a brush again!

              • Staff Reviewer

                A:

How often the Miracle Complexion Sponge should be washed depends on how often you use it and how much product is applied with it. A good rule of thumb is to wash it, on average, approximately every two weeks. Similar to washing your makeup brushes, a brush shampoo or mild hair shampoo is the best way to thoroughly clean the sponge. If the sponge is being used heavily, wash it every week.

                A:

Yes, this product can be used with any type of makeup formulation: cream, liquid, powder, loose, or pressed. Use the flat side of the sponge to apply all over the face, and the flat edge to apply and blend in hard to reach areas. You can also use the rounded side for lighter application.

The sponge is designed to absorb just enough foundation for flawless application. It will not waste product.

              • Staff Reviewer

                A:

This depends on how frequently you use the sponge. If you use it every day and/or wear a lot of foundation/concealer/powder, you should replace minimally every 30-45 days. If you are lighter makeup wearer and/or use the sponge 3-5 times a week, you can extend that time out to every 45-60 days.

This sponge can be cleaned easily using a brush cleaner or mild shampoo. Simply wet the sponge, apply the brush cleaner/shampoo, and massage to create a lather. Rinse thoroughly, squeeze out excess water, and allow to fully dry.
