Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

I've tried brushes, I've tried my fingers. Nothing looked natural. I didn't want to spend the higher price for the "other" sponge applicator. I researched and found this was supposed to work well. It does, I love it. I have the coverage and no cakey mess. From here on, this is the only way I will ever apply foundation.

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

Best and most affordable sponge out there. I love this sponge with my whole heart!

When you dampen the sponge it doubles in size and is so soft. It blends my makeup so nicely. I'm in love with it. I definitely recommend this sponge to anyone.

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

I don't know how I ever lived without this, seriously! I rarely write reviews, but this product is worth the time. I use it with bb cream, foundation, cream concealer and sunless tanning products for the face. Yes, the sunless tanner will stain it. So what? It still works beautifully. They are so inexpensive you can use for tanner and one for makeup, but it's not necessary. I wet the sponge, squeeze the water out and it's ready to go! I find that I use HALF the amount of foundation I normally do (I put some on the back of my hand and dip sponge in and apply to my face. It DOES NOT absorb product. If you use tons of foundation it might, just use common sense and you will be amazed at how far your foundation goes and WOW what a finish! BUY A COUPLE, you won't regret this purchase!

I would recommend using this product for primer and foundations. I think it has great value, however as with most sponges I would not recommend using this more than two weeks. I use this with either a primer or foundation. The shape also allows for me to use contour, which I have tried a couple times. You get a better deal purchasing the two-pack. Washing with warm water and then air drying seems to work fine for cleaning it out.

Of course it will stain, so does anything you use makeup with, brush, disposable sponge, hand, rag. WASH YOUR SPONGE WHEN YOU USE 3 TIMES. Its comes out completely. Just like paint on a brush until you wash it. Makeup is art too!!! simply, easy. Girls that dissed or used con's on this really doesn't understand or know how to use makeup. Its made for easy application. Again makeup is art. Appreciate amazing products like this. In love with price and how airbrushed you get without a makeup artist doing it for you using a machine!! :) :) :)

                            A:

How often the Miracle Complexion Sponge should be washed depends on how often you use it and how much product is applied with it. A good rule of thumb is to wash it, on average, approximately every two weeks. Similar to washing your makeup brushes, a brush shampoo or mild hair shampoo is the best way to thoroughly clean the sponge. If the sponge is being used heavily, wash it every week.

We recommend storing the sponge in an area where it will have the opportunity to fully dry out such as a bar soap holder or small dish. You may also place it on a dry washcloth or small (dry) towel. The sponge is best maintained by allowing it air dry.

                            A:

While the Miracle Complexion Sponge can be used with lighter lotions (BB/CC Creams or lighter facial moisturizers, etc.), it was designed to be used with foundations, primarily. Since lotions usually have a heavier consistency, those who use them in that way may find that the sponge may need to be replaced much more often and/or it may not perform as well as it should after several lotion uses. For that reason, we would recommend that it's used with foundations, rather than lotions.

How well will this product work with a very liquid product like Maybelline Dream Wonder? It's not a thick liquid at all. Will that just soak right up into the sponge? Should a thicker foundation like Revlon PhotoReady be used instead.

I know that the Beauty Blender is directed to be used damp, and this tool is very similar to the BB. However, I have read from previous questions that this sponge can be used damp or dry, so my question is which have you found works better, wet or dry??? Or does it depend on the type of product that is being used?? Like for example powder vs liquid.

"As with most of our items in the Real Techniques line, the 'beauty' is that you can use these however you like best! If you like to use the Miracle Complexion Sponge dry with liquid, go for it! Wet with powder -- awesome! It does really depend on the look you’re going for and the product(s) you’re using. The feedback we get most often on this fabulous item is that many of our customers like to use it damp with liquid foundation. However you use it, if you love it (and clean it regularly), we can’t ask for much more!"
