Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

i will NEVER buy another beauty blender or one of the beauty blender knock offs EVER again!!! this is the best sponge you will ever buy for putting on foundation. the flat side helps foundation blend on SO fast!! and everything blends soo perfect. this product is so cheap but absolutely amazing, i will never use a brush for foundation again. i wish you could buy these in a bulk package!! be warned - you absolutely do need to follow the directions and wash every 3-4 uses or it will make your foundation apply all patchy and gross looking but washing it takes a quick second so i dont see this as a con. just do a quick wash before using and it will be good as new, you have to damp it before anyways! to make this simple...this is a must buy and perfect for beauty lovers from beginners to pros.

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

Before this one, I use to apply liquid foundation with the round, triangular sponges, foundation brushes and even with my fingers. This sponge is the only one that I will buy from now on. The edges are perfect for hard to apply areas such as the side of the nose or on the eyes area. For those who has not tried this sponge yet, what are you waiting for????

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

This sponge works so well. I've never tried the more expensive makeup sponges, but I don't feel the need to now that I have this. It works so well for applying foundation and gets a really even coverage. I use it wet and the flat side for foundation then the pointed end for concealer. It doesn't absorb too much product, which is great. I love it. Never using a foundation brush again.

If you wash it after every second use (like it says on the box) then it doesn't stain. I read reviews saying it does stain but that's probably because they didn't clean it like their supposed to.

I run the sponge under water before using it. I just put the foundation directly on it and dab it on my skin. It blends like a dream, and my foundation doesn't get cake-y. Be sure to wash it regularly so it lasts awhile. I hear it's also a great dupe for the Beauty Blender.

Bought this bueaty blender based on its design and was NOT disappointed. The flat side allows for perfect under eye coverage application and also works fantastically on clean up for your eyeshadow and give it a straight crisp line.

                            A:

While the Miracle Complexion Sponge can be used with lighter lotions (BB/CC Creams or lighter facial moisturizers, etc.), it was designed to be used with foundations, primarily. Since lotions usually have a heavier consistency, those who use them in that way may find that the sponge may need to be replaced much more often and/or it may not perform as well as it should after several lotion uses. For that reason, we would recommend that it's used with foundations, rather than lotions.

Yes, Miracle Complexion Sponge can be used damp or dry.

Similar to washing your makeup brushes, a brush shampoo or mild hair shampoo is the best way to thoroughly clean the sponge.

How well will this product work with a very liquid product like Maybelline Dream Wonder? It's not a thick liquid at all. Will that just soak right up into the sponge? Should a thicker foundation like Revlon PhotoReady be used instead.

The Miracle Complexion Sponge works best with foundations that are more liquid; however, it can be used with all types of foundation. Even pressed powder foundations are able to be used.

I know that the Beauty Blender is directed to be used damp, and this tool is very similar to the BB. However, I have read from previous questions that this sponge can be used damp or dry, so my question is which have you found works better, wet or dry??? Or does it depend on the type of product that is being used?? Like for example powder vs liquid.

"As with most of our items in the Real Techniques line, the 'beauty' is that you can use these however you like best! If you like to use the Miracle Complexion Sponge dry with liquid, go for it! Wet with powder -- awesome! It does really depend on the look you’re going for and the product(s) you’re using. The feedback we get most often on this fabulous item is that many of our customers like to use it damp with liquid foundation. However you use it, if you love it (and clean it regularly), we can’t ask for much more!"

This depends on how frequently you use the sponge. If you use it every day and/or wear a lot of foundation/concealer/powder, you should replace minimally every 30-45 days. If you are lighter makeup wearer and/or use the sponge 3-5 times a week, you can extend that time out to every 45-60 days.

How often the Miracle Complexion Sponge should be washed depends on how often you use it and how much product is applied with it. A good rule of thumb is to wash it, on average, approximately every two weeks. Similar to washing your makeup brushes, a brush shampoo or mild hair shampoo is the best way to thoroughly clean the sponge. If the sponge is being used heavily, wash it every week.

Yes, this product can be used with any type of makeup formulation: cream, liquid, powder, loose, or pressed. Use the flat side of the sponge to apply all over the face, and the flat edge to apply and blend in hard to reach areas. You can also use the rounded side for lighter application.
