Comments about Hot Tools 1-1/2 Inch Gold Titanium Flat Iron:

I have long hair so I need a wider iron plate. I purchased this item in the past that had a 1 3/4" plate but it is no longer available. This one works just as good as the other one.

Loved the straightener overall but it stopped turning on after three uses. Would turn on but would randomly turn off and never power back on again.

Comments about Hot Tools 1-1/2 Inch Gold Titanium Flat Iron:

I purchased this flat iron for a trip to Italy. This is a good, dual-voltage flat iron. Compatible with universal AC converter.
My hair is thick and naturally wavy and it worked well enough to straighten my hair.
Cons: It did pull my hair at times and it made a buzzing noise when on.

Comments about Hot Tools 1-1/2 Inch Gold Titanium Flat Iron:

I have owned a CHI for almost a year and I could tell that it wasn't getting as hot as it should. I read reviews on ulta and this straightener was rated the best. This straightener is 100% better than my chi ever was and for half the price! Heats up fast, makes my hair soft and shiny. I have really curly and thick hair, but only one pass with this straightener and my hair is perfect.

I had a hot tools flat iron for 13 years! When I started doing research on new models I was tempted to buy a chi. The only thing that detracted me was the price. I decided to go with hot tools model since I had such good luck with my old one. I'm so glad I did. This model works great and gets the job done quickly.

Comments about Hot Tools 1-1/2 Inch Gold Titanium Flat Iron:

I am in love with this straightener!! I was using my my roommate's Chi for a while until I decided that I need a straightener of my own. The Chi I wanted was $160,which is steep for me. I went with this Hot Tools product since it was cheaper, and I could easily return it.
I straightened one section of my hair and I was amazed. I have short, thick, curly hair and this is exactly what I needed. It's thin enough to get my roots without burning me. Hot enough to go through my hair MAYBE two times and it be completely straight. Bascially this straightener is a god send!!! I love it.

This flat iron is amazing. While a Chi would take me 3-4 passes to completely straighten my hair, this iron takes one pass to do the trick! I absolutely love it. I have thick, frizzy/wavy hair down to the middle of my back which has been dyed countless times within the past 3 months. But, this iron leave my hair soft, shiny and straight. Also, one session of ironing lasted me 3 days!
