Comments about Dermadoctor DD Cream Dermatologically Defining BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30:

I have very fair skin. My normal makeup routine is either moisturizer, then primer followed by a bit of mineral powder; or primer followed by a mixture of my Clinique foundation, and my moisturizer. I can't stand a heavy-feeling foundation, and I DEFINITELY don't want to touch my face and *feel* my makeup.

The sales associate / DermDoc rep told me this is so light, I only need to use a little bit, it'll even out my redness and color-match my skin. I typically call balony on that whole color-matching thing, but I needed new foundation anyway, so I bought it.

It is SO thick that the "tiny amount" she recommended for my whole face covered half my forehead. I've had masks that went on easier than this. And then that half of my forehead looked like I smeared mud on myself. So I washed my faced and started over, this time with moisturizer first. The BB cream smoothed on slightly better this time. Slightly. But my face still looked like I had a bad fake tan. I tried to put a dusting of powder on after about 10 minutes (I was trying to let this stuff dry). Fail. It was so sticky that the powder just caked. And I should add, despite my orange skin, this has NO coverage. None. My drugstore primer and mineral powder are a far superior combo, at less than half the price.

I should also add that I try to stick to safe, non-toxic products when possible. I've gradually switched over the rest of my skincare routine. For some reason I assumed that something developed by a dermatologust that has all these great soothing, calming anti-aging benefits, and no chemical sunscreen, would be safe but I was shocked when I read the ingredients list later. Eek.
I sure hope Ulta accepts returns!

I use this before I put my normal amount of make up on, it is great as a primer and I love to use it on days when I don't want to wear full make up but still would like a little coverage. Blends very well with my skin tone.

This product provides hydrating benefits, but those with dry skin types may still prefer to layer DD Cream over moisturizer for added hydration. DD Cream features a lightweight formula with no greasy feel.
