Comments about John Frieda Hairsetter 2 Inch Rollers:

These do get really hot and they were a good value. They are held in by clips and I can't seem to get the roller I put on the top of my head to stay there and not flop around like a loose fish.

Comments about John Frieda Hairsetter 2 Inch Rollers:

I got these rollers after my other large hot rollers died. I have shoulder length hair, fine, medium thickness. I also use Keratin, which can leave your hair flat.

With a little mousse and/or a root lifter product these curlers give me the volume I need. I LOVE the way my hair looks after using these rollers. Better than a flat iron, but not the hassle. Unlike a flat iron, they give my hair volume. I just heat them (with the top closed) and put them in my hair while I am doing my makeup.

No problems with the clips, the unit heating etc. like other reviewers.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the volume these curlers produce.

Comments about John Frieda Hairsetter 2 Inch Rollers:

I so wanted to like this hairsetter. It has just the right amount of rollers and the 2" size is great for volume without a tight curl. But they just would not stay put. I don't get these clips. They simply do not hold this heavy roller tight enough in my thick but fine hair. Maybe metal pin/clips would hold better, but no one makes 2" metal clips. Very frustrating so I returned them. Please...someone devise a better holding method!

I love the Variable Temperature. Due to unforeseen Hair Loss, I wear a synthetic wig. I use these to add body after washing it. The variable temperature is perfect in protecting the synthetic fiber. I love it. Wish I could find a larger unit with the variable temperature that had more rollers.

If you have thin hair, the rollers are too heavy and they fall out. Also, if your hear is thin, they burn your scalp.

Comments about John Frieda Hairsetter 2 Inch Rollers:

I was looking for something that would give my hair more of a wave than curl, so I thought these would be a time saver....put them in and let them do their thing while I did my makeup. I left them in until they were cool, but they barely made any wave in my hair, and a couple of places looked a little crimped. The clips don't hold the rollers tight enough, so I had to be careful not to make any big movements. Maybe if you have really thick hair they work better, but they didn't work for me. I returned them.

Comments about John Frieda Hairsetter 2 Inch Rollers:

After using thse several times, I can honestly say that this is the holy grail of jumbo hot rollers. The negative reviews I have read about this roller set are if you expect these rollers to "curl" your hair, then you will be disappointed.
Five 2 inch jumbo rollers are not made to "curl" hair. On the contrary, they are designed to smooth hair (almost like a flat iron), yet retain body and volume (unlike the effect you get with a flat iron). I LOVE that these rollers don't curl my hair at all. They give you a look that is similar to blow out (with a round brush) that you get from a salon. This is exactly what I want.

I have had many sets of "jumbo" rollers, but most come in a 1 1/2 inch roller set that ends up curling the hair or making it flip out weird.

So, I went into this purchase very skeptical that these would be any better, but I love everything about them. From the size, shape, and design of the set to the clips which work very well for me to the little pouch that you store your clips in--it all functions perfectly. I love the high heat option (don't even bother with the lower heat setting!) and the way my hair looks after use.

I tend to wash my hair at night, blow it dry quickly, and then flat iron it. I have wavy hair that works well with some heat on it. The next morning before work I plug in my roller set, and throw the 5 rollers (1 in front, 1 in crown, 1 on each side, and one in back) while I do my make up. I only leave them in about 5-8 minutes. I then take them out and smooth my hair with a brush, and my hair has loads of smooth volume. I love it! These are great for second day hair as well--it just pumps your hair back up and smooths out any kinks from sleeping on it.

This isn't a look like that of a curling iron (which I don't like anyway) or smaller roller set--and it isn't meant to be. I have medium-long hair (a few inches past my shoulders in long layers) and these rolers work perfectly for me. If your hair is much shorter or you have short layers, they may not work well.

The size of the rollers are great but they simply do not get as hot as they should to set and hold a long lasting curl. Waste of money for me ~
