The Body Shop's Community Trade program sources chamomile oil from a co-operative of small-scale farmers in Norfolk, England, an area that has been facing declining incomes and employment opportunities. Their trade with Norfolk Essential Oils has helped give a new life to a community that was under threat, by generating jobs and providing a new and important source of income. The methods used by the co-op also ensure the environmental quality of the area, and support local wildlife.
