Comments about Chi Keratin Silk Infusion:

My hair has very limited heat damage, and a bit of color damage. I use repairing shampoo & conditioner, plus leave-in conditioner.
This product is great for when I don't want to style my hair, but also don't want the frizz. It seems very pricey, but a little goes a VERY long way. I've been using it for months, and only have to use it between washes, NOT daily. I have chest-length hair, and I use a dime-size amount.
After less than an hour after application, hair is smooth and more cooperative. I find myself running my fingers through it, without hitting frizz & tangles!
The most important aspect of an anti-frizz solution, is NOT making hair greasy and oily! My hair gets that way quickly, so that's very important to me. This product adds shine & smoothness WITHOUT the need to wash more often. I have tried a great number of anti-frizz solutions, and this is the first I will replace as often as I need to.

Comments about Chi Keratin Silk Infusion:

I dont usually spend the time to review a product but I feel like this product deserves a review. I have been on the search for really good hair products for the longest. I've tried everything from biolage, biomega, aquage, its a 10, john frieda, wella, macadamia, clear, etc, etc... Macadamia is a really good line as well but its twice the price of CHI and you'll get less the product for your money. Anyhow, this line really does live up to what it says it does. It will have your hair feeling like you just left the salon. I am really excited that I discovered this product because I had really bad fly aways/breakage. All the hair spay and different gel or wax could not tame my fly aways!! However, after using their leave in conditioner I found that I didn't need further product to tame my hair and that felt really good!

This is far and away the best styling product I have found to tame my thick, frizzy, curly locks without chemically altering it! I have tried literally everything including a professional keratin relaxing treatment along with a couple of BBO's and although they do the job, I find my hair is too straight for my liking. This product cuts down my blow dry time almost in half, gives great, straight results without taking away all the volume, and my hair stays nice for a couple of days! (Those out there with my kind of hair understand I'm not gross here!) I can't recommend this product enough for those who need help with taming their manes!!!

Does this product double as a heat protectant? Or do I need to use it with another product? I was originally looking for a heat protectant but wanted something with Keratin in it.

Also, I use oil daily in my hair, will this product make it too oily since it is not a cream?

                A:

This product is formulated with CHI 44 Ceramic thermal styling to help strengthen and protect the hair from daily use of thermal tools, so the use of an additional heat protectant is optional.

You can absolutely use Keratin Silk Infusion daily. Its lightweight formula adds smoothness and shine without any greasy feeling or look.

Hi...I've been natural for 3yrs using a permanent color my natural hair for the same amount of time. I recently converted back to a relaxer (keri care) and notice that my hair started shedding uncontrollably. Looking for something that will stop the shedding and take my hair back to its strong again. I now use just a rinse to cover my grey hairs only. Pls help

CHI Keratin Silk Infusion is a powerful reconstructing complex that heals and hydrates dry, damaged hair. It is an ideal treatment to prevent breakage and is formulated for safe use on color- and chemically-treated hair.

I have long, thick, coarse, Asian hair that is prone to split ends. I want to know the difference between:
Chi Silk Infusion vs Chi Keratin Silk Infusion

I would use it as a leave in after showering.
Don’t care for heat protection because I barely style my hair.

What will both do in terms of softness, manageability, frizz control, split end protection. Does one product offers better effect/results over the other?

Does either contain SULFATES, ALCOHOL, PARABENS, GLUTEN or SODIUM-CHLORIDE

                A:

Keratin Silk Infusion is lighter-weight than the original Silk Infusion, making it ideal for those with fine hair, and is also formulated with keratin to strengthen hair that is especially damaged and prone to breakage. For you, we suggest the original Silk Infusion, since you have thick, coarse hair. Both are free of sulfates, parabens, and sodium chloride. CHI does not claim any of their products are gluten-free. They are not alcohol-free. The silicone base of either formula will help to make your hair more manageable and soft by smoothing the hair's cuticle.

You can use it with or without heat, and yes, it would be applied to damp hair after showering.

Silk Infusion can be applied when hair is dry or wet. This product can also be used to finish your style and add shine. Unlike the Silk Infusion, the Leave-in Conditioner should be used when the hair is wet. These products should not replace a weekly mask.

            • Q:

What is the difference between the Keratin Silk Infusion by CHI and the regular Silk Infusion by CHI with the red cap? I have been using the regular silk infusion for years but I was looking at this Keratin one and am wondering what the difference is?

I have naturally curly hair, that I wash & straighten (blow fry & flat iron) about once a week. I have naturally dryer hair. It is individually a fine texture however I have a lot of hair making it appear thicker. My hair can absorb product without becoming greasy. I also have chemical processing (highlights) and I am trying to stop the breakage so it can grow long again.

What is recommended between the two?

                A:

CHI Keratin Silk Infusion will not make the hair brittle. It contains Argan Oil and Jojoba Oil. These are the benefits of these oils. Using CHI Keratin Leave in conditioner will also keep the hair feeling soft and smooth.

                Argan oil Benefits:
                • Locks in moisture leaving hair light and non-greasy
                • Improves elasticity and strengthens hair to prevent breakage
                • Keeps hair smooth and adds shine

                Jojoba Oil Benefits:
                • Removes layers of build up from the hair and scalp for better treatment results
                • Minimizes the loss of protein in the hair to promote stronger, healthier hair
                • Conditions hair and scalp by giving essential nutrients to both

When using Keratin infused products, hair becomes very strong and some may perceive it as dry because of the way it feels when wet. This can be prevented by using the CHI Keratin Leave-in Conditioner to soften the hair after being shampooed.

Please note that this product is not a shampoo; it is a hair treatment to be applied on towel-dried hair after shampooing and conditioning. It helps to reconstruct dry, damaged hair, but it will not change your curly hair type.

This product, unlike CHI Silk Infusion, contains natural keratin to rebuild the hair's cuticle. This product is ideal for dry, damaged hair. It can certainly be used every other day; frequency of use depends on the severity of damage. Neither CHI Keratin Silk Infusion nor CHI Silk Infusion cause buildup.
