Comments about Sally Hansen Insta-Gel Strips:

I used solid color strips. The application was easier than the regular gel strips, they were more pliable. They do require stretching the strip which could make application difficult for patterned strips. I can get a better manicure with a bottle of nail polish, but initially my nails did look quite good. I had tip wear within 12 hours and very large chips within 24. They had worse wear than regular, non-gel nail polish, they still require soaking off and they stained my cuticles terribly when I removed them.

Comments about Sally Hansen Insta-Gel Strips:

What a complete waste of money. The edges started lifting almost immediately and the shine on the topcoat only lasted about 45 minutes, then it became dull and weird looking. All I was doing during that time was typing. The straw that broke the camel's back with me was when one of my pinky ones lifted off almost entirely when I zipped my pants after peeing. I followed the directions to a T because I wanted this to work and it looked nice for about 15 minutes, then weird bubbles started to appear and the edges started coming up. By two hours and fifteen minutes after I started the whole thing all of them were off because they all just looked so bad and were clearly lifting off. I hoped to get at least a week's wear out of them. This is just a super awful product.

      Part 2-Practice Makes Perfect

      By DM fan

      from Redlands, CA

Comments about Sally Hansen Insta-Gel Strips:

Prior review did not show my suggestions that I left so this is part 2 to go along with prior review.
Directions do not say to apply a gel base coat, but the strips stick on so much better and last longer with no chips if you do that. Do one nail at a time.
      1st-clean nail with alcohol
2nd-gel base coat & cure under led lamp
3rd-apply Strip while nail is still tacky from the base coat
4th-cover tip of nail and then cut off as much excess as possible or cut some of excess prior to applying. Sometimes they will wrinkle if too much excess.
5th-Once tip is covered and most excess past tip removed then you can fold a small amount under tip. You will be able to pick this off easy enough later.
6th-for excess around sides of fingers and cuticle, I use the provided pointy side of the stick to poke all around the finger and start to separate it from the nail. As you do this the strip will start to tear away. You have to be slow and gentle to not tear more than you want. It's tedious which is why I like to do only 1 highlight finger with a pattern and polish the rest of my nails with matching color to pattern.
7th- use gel top coat and cure under light. I do two or more coats and cure to keep them from chipping and last two weeks.
8th- follow with alcohol to remove tacky residue.

Comments about Sally Hansen Insta-Gel Strips:

I like to use the strips with the patterns on it on my ring fingers as a "highlight" finger and then match up a color polish for the other fingers. It takes using these a few times to get the hang of getting the strips on right and figuring out what works to make the process easier. See my suggestions as I do not follow the directions given and have better results. These are more difficult to use then to just polish your nails, but the fun patterns are great and I get lots of compliments. For a solid color, it really is easier to just paint your nails than to use the strips. I can go two weeks on the strips with no chipping, but the first couple of times I used these I did not have great results and they chipped faster than polish. Unless you are patient then you might not like using these. 1st off, they are a bit expensive at the regular price of 14.99, but they do include a bottle of top coat that can also be used for regular polish which sells for 9.99-12.99 on it's own depending on where you buy it. So really you are paying 10 bucks for the top coat and 5.00 for the strips. The strips come with 8 for each hand so you can pick the strip that best fits your fingers. I bought many of these on clearance in the stores and almost all of them are on clearance now for .99 unless it's one of the few patterns still for 14.99 they actively are carrying. Use the clearance ones to practice with before you fork over the full price.

Comments about Sally Hansen Insta-Gel Strips:

I am SO GLAD that I got these on sale or I would have been livid. I researched them after I bought them (unfortunately) and all of the reviews were bad minus a few. I put them on yesterday. I followed the directions to the T and literally 3 hours later, my thumb nail came off lol. Today, all of my other nails are still on, but they are chipped and lifting up. I read on another site that someone used base coat for thse. I bought three others, so I'm going to try one with regular laquer base coat and another with gel base coat. Definitely will just stick to regular laquer or gel varnish.

Comments about Sally Hansen Insta-Gel Strips:

I absolutely love this product! I got them online for a very low clearance price, so I ordered 7 different patterns/colors. I'm wearing the houndstooth right now, and also love the leopard. They are much easier to apply than the regular Sally polish strips. There are 2 packs of strips in each box. ONLY OPEN ONE PACK AT A TIME. You cannot use some strips and then save the rest. They dry out and will not work after exposed to air for even a day. You can get 1 manicure & Pedicure from each pack, depending on your nail size. Do fingers and toes at the same time so not to waste the strips. Simple application, and REALLY ACTUALLY lasts the 2 weeks! Will definitely be buying again!

The nail strips were difficult to apply. You cannot use the strips if your hands are cold, they wouldn't adhere, wrinkled easily and looked very sloppy. I had to remove it immediately, it looked so bad. In addition, the cost is unreasonable. Not worth the money. I will not purchase again.

These are REGULAR nail strips which includes a clear gel topcoat. I'm not upset because i bought them on clearance but I wouldn't waste my money on these if they weren't a print. You are better off buying the regular gel polish (not strips) if you get a solid color rather than a patterned one.
