Ask a Question
Richer than other mattes, the color goes on with a smooth, luxe finish (never chalky or powdery). There's even one demi-matte shade, Venus, which has the tiniest touch of satin - perfect for highlighting and adding dimension. While this palette is small, Urban Decay loaded it with full-size shadow pans, just like their other Naked palettes. Every shade features their Pigment Infusion System, a vehicle for color that holds tightly to pigment and gives the formula its glide. The proprietary blend of ingredients allows color to weave itself through the eye shadow formula. What does all that mean? Insane color payout. Color that stays on your lids. Sparkle that doesn't fall. And velvety, suede-like smoothness and blendability. It all comes in a sleek compact (embossed with a pretty, metallic "NAKED" on the front) that has a slight sheen and a suede-like feel that practically begs to be touched. (Hello...how gorgeous will THAT look coming out of your bag?!) Best of all, the slim design is perfect for travel - so you'll never have to be without these must-have shades.

I really recommend this for those who like to carry their makeup with them-which was the whole reason I purchased it. The colors in the Naked Basics really compliment the shades from the other Naked palettes and these are all matte colors so they are versatile and perfect for everyday wear.

I underestimated the pigments in these shadows went after them like I do with some of my Mac shadows - sometimes you really need to rub your brush into them. That was a big mistake in a great way - I got a really great lesson in how good the pigments are. You don't need a ton of product to achieve all kinds of looks. A little really goes a long way for daytime use :) This palette is perfect for daytime and creating some casual dinner looks. Add a few special singles for a special occasion or dinner date look, but keep this palette close by for your base. Loved it so much I immediately replaced five Mac shades with UD singles.

The first UD palette I ever bought was the naked basics 2. It took me awhile to purchase this one but I love it! The colors are highly pigmented and creamy which makes it easy to blend. I use the UD Eden primer which is meant for matte colors. Lasts all day!

The Naked Basics is a great everyday eyeshadow palette and can be used to get endless looks ranging from natural to smoky. With daily use and equal favoring of all shades, Naked Basics will last at least a year. For most Basics lovers, it lasts even longer!

UD never tests for the "dermatologist tested" claim nor use ophthalmologist tested. However, UD does perform an ocular study for eye irritation on all products that are for eye or face use.

I have very fair skin (burns easily), green eyes, and light brown hair that is quickly turning white, but which I have not colored as it is a very white white (I am waiting for it all to come in so I can add violet streaks!).

Would you recommend the Naked Basics kit or the Naked 2 Basics? I am not sure what the best set would be.

                  Thank you!

The shades in Naked2 Basics are slightly cooler toned (taupe-hued) than those in the original Naked Basics palette. All shades in both palettes are matte and neutral, so they work perfectly for all complexions! We suggest testing both palettes at your nearest ULTA store:
