I was really excited when I first bought Bare Minerals. I was promised that the product would work well with my dry skin, which was definitely not true. The product flaked horribly, and I constantly felt like it was caked and blotchy on my skin. It caused pretty bad skin irritation after using it for a while. The fact that it was so expensive caused me to keep using it to try and get my money's worth. The ONLY positive thing about the kit was the primer. I do not recommend from my own personal experience, but I am happy that other people had good results.

I can't say enough about this new foundation. It lasts all day and doesn't dry my skin out or look too powdery. I have had a very tough time finding the right foundation for my comination skin. I've tried high-end liquid foundations that cost almost $50, but this works better than any of them. It doesn't settle into fine lines or make me greasy. I would recommend using the buff brush to apply. It doesn't come with this kit (you have to buy it separately, but can find it cheaper by other companies). All in all, this kit is highly recommended.

I have been using Bare Minerals for years, and was dying to try the Ready. It took three attempts to get the color right. I use Fairly Light in the original, but I use Medium Beige in Ready. Also, the application is totally different, so you really need to have someone show you the proper application. Now that I have that all figured out, I truly love it. In this kit, though, they do not give you the appropriate application brush, and it will pile too much of the foundation on. I would give this kit five stars if they fixed this brush problem. No more swirl and tap with this makeup.

I'm a BareMinerals fan - the original and matte foundations actually make my skin BETTER. BUT they are messy and the powder settles into my age lines. I thought this would be better. It IS LESS MESSY, but it settles into my wrinkles just the same and I couldn't seem to find a color match. I'm yellow-orange, medium skinned Asian with age spots and smile lines around my eyes.
I'd recommend this if you can find a good color match. I'm currently mixing two shades to get a decent match.

Love the product! I have been waiting for this product forever, but I am disappointed. I rushed to the store to buy and when I got home, the foundation was broken! Then I found out to apply it properly you need the new brush! So knowing there is a new starter kit I assumed there would be the required brush for it... Nope, you have to purchase that for an additional $26. Trying to use the brushes that come with this kit puts it on way to cake/thick. Also the medium, that people with red cheeks have come to love, is not the same color as the original medium. Not sure what to do... Every new product has a learning curve.
