I do love the sleek look of this dryer. It blows my hair just as fast as my other hair dryers simply for the fact that I only use it on medium heat.

Comments about Chi Touch Screen Dryer:

I have insanely thick hair & it would take me 35 minutes to dry my hair with a basic hair dryer & my crown would still be damp & my hair would be frizzy. This dryer dried it in 5 minutes literally, the entire head! && it has a cool setting button that really cools the hair! The cord is really long so you can move with it & it doesn't suck your hair in the air vent. Highly recommend from a women who has tried everything!

Comments about Chi Touch Screen Dryer:

I was really excited to finally purchase this blow dryer, as I had wonderful results from an Ulta Salon service a few months prior. I finally purchased the Chi Touch as a birthday present to myself and ran home to test it out! Quite frankly, deep down inside I was disappointed as I my hair dried in the same exact time as my old Conair dryer did, however the frizz was a tad bit less.. so I kept the Chi. Fast forward two months later and with less than a dozen uses, the Chi Touch completely died on me on New Years Eve. What the heck? I spent good money on a product to have this happen a mere two months later. The blow dryer is not worth the price nor the headache. Mind you.. I have fine curly hair, so its not like I used for more than 20 minute intervals, so there is no reason why this product died on me the way it did.

I ordered this dryer off of a friend's recommendation and I am glad I did! When I purchased this I had waist length hair and it took me half the time to dry than with previous dryers, around 10 minutes.I now have short hair and it takes maybe 3 minutes for it to become dry. The dryer is not the lightest I have ever owned, but it is no big deal. The way it makes my hair look and feel afterwards makes it well worth the purchase.

I love Chi irons especially the newer ones. I had to get this dryer. While it is lightweight and soft touch, I feel it is a big long dryer and i prefer mid sized dryers. This has 1800 watts which is plenty heat but some smaller dryers have more heat and smaller sized. That being said, Its still a great dryer and I really like it. Another thing, is the touch is a neat feature, but I don't mind buttons on dryers.

Comments about Chi Touch Screen Dryer:

I had a CHI Pro Dryer for 4 years or so (Pink Limited Edition Breast Cancer set)and loved it. One day it died and I instantly went to the CHI website to see what was available. I also did a lot of research and there were some things I had to have in a dryer purchase. Ions, TRUE cold shot, quick drying and the dryer had to be easy to handle. I admit, I was a little bit too impressed with the touch screen when I saw it. I thought how cool AND I can change the temperature and Ion's through the screen. I was really trying to decide between a Babyliss Volare, a T3 and the CHI Touch Screen and I noticed ULTA had a great deal on the CHI with a free flat iron, SCORE...so I ordered it since my iron was also 4 years old and why not, it has that fun touch screen.

When it arrived and I opened it my first thought was "Wow this thing is heavy!" which for me isn't too much of a big deal because I'm not a stylist and using it all day long but it was something I definitely noticed and for a professional stylist this might become a problem. Once using the touch screen I quickly realized that it wasn't as awesome as it seemed to be. Normally on a dryer your controls are right at your fingertips and you can flip it from hot to cold or low to high in a second without even looking. With the CHI you have to look into the screen, hit the settings button, hit the heat button then slide the heat to where you want it. Then hit the home key, go to ions, slide the slider to where you want that. Then hit the home key and change the airflow the same as the others. Ok so not a big deal right? If you don't unplug it, it saves the settings so you set it once and forget about it. Unless you are like I am and change settings during use, I start out on high (very long hair) then reduce the heat and once its dry I cold shot it. This process became annoying quickly. Add in the fact that while drying my hair I also use product on it for shine which I apply with my hands. If the product is the least bit oily and you dry your hands off, using the touch screen is still messy, fingerprints all over it, so I was finding myself running to the bathroom washing my hands when I would get product on them or touch my hair so I didn't get it all over the dryer (think using a smartphone after you apply something oily or slightly sticky to your hair - yes its like that)! Also whatever satin finish they put on the dryer is really beautiful but isn't as easy to wipe clean as the typical glossy finish on most. Normally id just wipe my hands off on a towel while doing my hair until I could wash them, but that wasn't enough with this dryer to keep fingerprints off.

So once I got past the above issues leaves me with one of my deal-breakers. TRUE cold shot. I know most dryers have a cold air button and my OLD CHI had one that shot very cold air out of it, what I call a true cold shot. I have semi coarse waist length hair that I straighten and after I flat iron I the cold shot and this will be the difference for me between amazing shiny hair or dull somewhat frizzy hair. I fully expected for the price of this dryer and the fact it had a temperature control that the cold shot would be as cold or colder than my previous CHI dryer. I was wrong. This dryer's cold settings were lukewarm. If I used it hot and kept the dryer turned on cold for 2-3 minutes it would gradually cool down but this isn't a true cold shot to me. I want to hit that button and have an arctic blast hitting my hair! Considering my 4+ year old dryer did it and cost less this one definitely should! I may have gotten a bad one off of the assembly line with a broken cold shot, who knows, but this was the deal breaker for me.

The bottom line is after doing my hair 4 or 5 times with this dryer, my hair wasn't less frizzy and as silky as it was with my old CHI. It was a pain to use and the features didn't work how I wanted it to. So back it's going. I ran out and bought the Babyliss volare and am very happy with it!

I always loved my CHI products but I think this one is more flash than function. If you want to play with the little gadget on the top, don't really care about how cold your dryer can blow, and won't be bothered by the weight and awkward controls on the touch screen then go for it. But considering this dryer is one of the higher priced ones on the market. There are better out there for this price and less. Nice try CHI but it needs work!
