Not exactly what I was looking for

By Crystal Renee

from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 35:

I have very oily skin and this did nothing to keep my face from getting shiny after
a few hours. It didn't feel like it absorbed well into my skin. I'll be returning this and trying another product.

Comments about Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 35:

This is a terrible product. It sank into every pore, line and crease and offered no coverage whatsoever. It's supposed to control oil and certainly didn't. I wanted something with lightweight coverage, not zero coverage and the high SPF was surely a good thing too. However, this product is obviously for those with young perfect skin that is nearly poreless because about an hour after I applied this, it looked absolutely ghastly. I was already at work so I couldn't just wash it off (I wished I could) and I'm sure everyone noticed how bad it looked because normally my makeup is flawless). I even used a primer (Lorac Porefection, which works great) and set it with powder, all to no avail, it still looked really bad. My pores looked like huge craters and it drew attention to every line and crease on my face (and to some I didn't even know I had). This is by far the worst product I've used in a long time and it's definitely going back to the store. It's definitely not cheap but it's not worth a plug nickel. It seemed to blend well but this is certainly deceptive. Everything it promised to do it didn't do at all. If you're young and have perfect skin and not a single line, then maybe you can make this work. More power to you. But if you have flaws, like we all do, pass on this product. I definitely don't recommend it. I wouldn't wish this one on my worst enemy. And that's saying a whole lot.

I found this product too tacky and heavy for a BB cream. Not what I was looking for at all. Pastey coverage and suntan lotion smell were a turn off. I highly recommend BE Complexion Rescue if you are looking for a true BB cream/tinted moisturizer.

                A:

Great question! :-) The proper order of application depends on how you use BB!

Have dry skin? Still moisturize first, before applying BB. Have oily/combination skin? BB is all you'll need.

BB features the built-in benefits of a primer, so using an additional primer is optional. When using in conjunction with one of Smashbox's Photo Finish Primers, we recommend applying Photo Finish first (after moisturizing if you have dry skin) only to areas of concern such as the T-zone, then following with an all-over application of BB.

BB looks great alone for quick, camera-ready skin. Or pair BB with your favorite foundation for more coverage, applied on top of BB. We adore it with Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder.

                Hope this helps! :-)

The Fair shade features neutral-to-pink undertones and is ideal for porcelain and fair complexions. When in doubt, it's always best to try it out in person at your nearest Ulta Beauty store! :-)

This product is formulated for all skin types. It controls oil and minimizes shine, but it is not designed to treat acne. If you are seeking an acne-fighting primer, we recommend Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control, which is formulated with 2% salicylic acid to help eliminate blemishes and keep skin clear:
                http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod5580075

You can certainly layer CC Cream over Blemish Control for a clear & flawless complexion.
