Comments about The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner:

I rarely use toner because it dries out my skin too much, so I thought this one would be a good option since it's supposed to be hydrating. It is pretty decent toner and it doesn't cause my skin to get drier, but it also doesn't really seem like it deep cleans or does anything special for my skin. For the price, I wouldn't buy it again.

Comments about The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner:

I use this toner every morning (after my shower) and every evening after I've taken off my makeup and washed my face. It is gentle, no smell at all, it actually makes my face feel smoother and a little goes a long way! If by chance I've missed any makeup, it takes it right off. Will buy this again...I LOVE it!

This toner is great because it does not leave your skin feeling dry afterwards. It's definitely added more moisture to my skin leaving it feeling less dry.

I cannot eat food with gluten, but I have never had a skin reaction to products with it. This product would be the first one. I enjoyed it the first couple of times but found that my normally blemish free skin, started breaking out all over. This product gets the vitamin E from wheat germ. I stopped using, and the blemishes went away. Shame as I liked the toner.

                      A:

We recommend this toner for combination/dry skin types, since it is hydrating. It is also formulated with antioxidant vitamin E to protect skin against the free radical damage that can contribute to uneven skin tone and irritation.

The front of the bottle says this toner is "Alcohol-Free", yet "Benzyl Alcohol" is listed as an ingredient. Please advise!

                      A:

                      From The Body Shop:

"When we claim that a product is “Alcohol-free” we mean “Ethanol-free”. “Alcohol” is the common name for Ethanol which is the intoxicating alcohol found in alcoholic drinks that some religious groups and consumers wish to avoid. Ethanol can be considered to have a drying effect on the skin and some people find it irritating.

In scientific terms there are many chemicals that are classified as “alcohols”, including Benzyl Alcohol and Lanolin Alcohol. They are chemically extremely different from ethanol; they are not intoxicating and have very different properties. We still consider products containing these materials to be “Alcohol-free” because they are Ethanol free."
