I use this after towel drying and just before blow drying. Be sure to comb through upon application. Try to avoid your scalp or facial area when you spray it on. I got this as a sample from Ulta.com, and I am glad to say that I bought 2 of the largest size possible. Enjoy!

Again, unimpressed with the results. I looked at the video online from John Frieda's web site as to how to apply, when, and how much as well as read the bottle directions. I have naturally wavy hair that I dry straight daily. I wanted something that would protect my hair from the blow dryer heat damage and I'd had high hopes for this. It didn't work, my hair ended up looking like dry straw and still frizzy. It also felt awful, I couldn't easily run my fingers through my hair which drove me nuts. I will return this to the store today.

I bought this because i was quickly looking for a heat protector and it said it would help style with heating tools. I have thin wavy hair that's dyed and very long. The smell is fine, its not overpowering, it is a little sticky though, so it is kind of hard to just run your fingers through your hair after you have applied it. I always straighten my hair and didnt really see any difference when doing so while using this. It was a pain trying to straighten my hair since it became sticky. My hair does feel smooth. I plan on curling my hair and hopefully it will keep its hold with this product. I DO NOT recommend this for people with thick/curly hair because it will be a pain. I was using redkins starch spray for my top layers to give them some volume and to help curl my hair. This product is much lighter than redkins so i only plan to use this product on my top layers and when curling in place of redkins spray starch. if you have short hair with a lot of layers then this stuff will be wonderful for you.
