I wished I'd noticed the slide mechanism for turning the iron off and on. It doesn't inspire confidence. Sliding 1/4 inch either way to turn it on or off is way too short a distance to expect the operation to change.

The clamp on this conical curler makes it much easier to use effectively, and it's true that it doesn't leave bad kinks. The barrel is a good width to create big, loose spiral curls on medium-long to long hair. Drawbacks: disgusting smell emits from the heated iron (though the insert in the packaging states that that's normal and just oil burning off...EW, not really what I want near my hair!); the On/Off buttons are located right where your hand grasps the device as you're curling, and I accidentally turned it off multiple times while in the process of curling. Overall, it works and doesn't burn your hair...there are definitely nicer models out there with more features, but they're considerably more expensive.

Love this iron! i have very coarse straight hair and it makes perfect waves if i hold loosely or tight if i want curls. if you are having problems getting your curl/wave to stay consider what products you are using and try an thermal spray.

It turns off after 15mins of use, while I was in the middle of doing my hair. So I had to return it.

The clamp on this curling iron makes it very easy to use. I bought both kinds, the wand without the clamp and this one. I would have to say this one was the one I preferred because it required no glove, I didn't have to hold the hair, and I was familiar with this style, as I have used a regular curling iron for decades.

Worked fantastic. Have trouble getting curls to go from top to bottom (I have longer hair--about mid-long length) Wanted an iron that was tapered and knew i would burn myself with one without the clamp. Got home and used it and my hair looks fantastic...super excited. Didn't take any longer than my normal iron (maybe 15 curls) but can already tell it has staying power.
