Comments about Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen:

The overall foundation is wonderful. It is lightweight and gives great coverage. However, if you have normal or dry skin I would steer clear of this product. It completely sucked out all the moisture in my face and now my skin is horribly dry.
It takes two-three weeks of using the foundation for your skin to get super dry.
In addition, I started to get random pimples on my chin and cheeks. I've never suffered from acne or breakouts and I wash my face every morning/night.
I was disappointed because I have heard great things about Tarte and thought the natural ingredients would be good for my skin.

I think this foundation would work wonders for those ladies who have oily skin!

Comments about Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen:

I love full coverage foundations. I was going to get Mac Studio FX or Smashbox HD whatever but the nice lady at Ulta told me to get this instead if I like full coverage (they don't carry Mac so it was between Tarte and Smashbox) and she said Smashbox isn't as full. Similar pricing so I tried it. I love it! I will continue to use it and buy more when I run out for sure. I am sure there may be something better out there. But this is the best foundation I have ever used. My breakouts are non existent! I was using Maybelline (sp?) dream matte mouse for years and it gave me pretty full coverage but it was rough on my skin and I noticed it was a little heavy looking in my photos so I figured I should try something new. I love how this makeup photographs also. I don't even need a primer with it. Sometimes I use one, don't get me wrong, but I don't NEED one. This stuff lasts for me for at least 8 hours. Usually 10 or more. Not quite 12 for me but hey it is summer and I am outside a lot and my skin is oily so you know. I bet in the winter and fall when my skin isn't sweating 24/7 it will last the 12. And 8-10 hours in the heat is better than anything I have ever found. I usually buy high end makeup but for some reason I had it all backwards and was buying drug store foundation and high end other stuff (except for mascara). My reasoning was because I go through foundation so fast I can't afford 40 bucks every time. But this stuff, I have had it for a month and not even used half. So it lasts. It's a lot of product. My Maybelline lasted maybe a couple weeks until I had to repurchase and on my face it maybe 3 hours tops before I was reapplying and looking cakey. I also do not need powder for this like I did for my other foundations, it is pretty matte. I use the white powder from urban decay, I forget what it's called, on my t zone after a few hours and my face is oil free all day, which is really saying something because my skin is oily! I used to have to use powder way more. BASICALLY what I am saying is there is nothing bad about this other than it is extremely expensive. You get what you pay for though. I am very happy with it and would most definitely recommend it.

Purchased this after a friend recommended, my other foundation was melting in the heat, and leaving me super greasy looking, after two weeks I love this, it stays on all day, often around 16hrs, and it doesn't melt off in the heat or leave me looking like a grease ball, it also has a much more natural color to it and doesn't look cakey at the end of the day.

My skin tone is light, not fair, and I have an oily TZone. I have some redness on my cheeks just to the side of my nose. This foundation does not cover all of the redness and provides moderate coverage, not full coverage. I use the brush that came with it via another TV retailer and it is a good brush, but I think the brush is best suited for applying finishing powder rather than foundation. I will try applying the foundation with my fingers next time to see if I can get full coverage that way. I have terrible, navy blue colored dark circles and I used IT Cosmetics' concentrated bye bye under eye concealer in addition to the Tarte foundation. The Amazonian Clay foundation provides good moderate coverage foundation, but if you are looking for real deal full coverage then the Tarte Foundcealer has full coverage and is only offered by a certain TV retailer. I wish Tarte would not make the foundcealer exclusively for this TV retailer's customers because it's not fair for everyone. I would still recommend this foundation because not everyone wants full coverage and this foundation provides really good moderate coverage and stays on well. I recommend using a good, non greasy primer before applying any foundation.

Comments about Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen:

This is a great product. I have used drugstore makeup before and this is def the best of all. I only have one problem with it, this seems to cause my face to breakout, especially overnight if I dont wash my face well before going to bed. Every single time that I have not washed off my makeup, I have woken up to a few little pus-filled pimples on my face. Maybe my skin is over sensitive. But I guess any makeup would clog pores if it was on for more than 12 hours. Besides this I have no complaints, i def recommend it for those who have acne. It covers very well. It is best used with a finishing powder, like BareMinerals tinted mineral veil. That adds glow and a rosy tint.

For those with dry skin, we recommend applying to moisturized skin for best results. Exfoliate weekly or biweekly, apply moisturizer, and prime skin using a primer like Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-Hour Perfecting Primer to help further improve skin texture and reduce flakiness for flawless application of foundation:
