    Comments about DevaCurl No-Poo:

I used to have a love/hate relationship with my hair. I love having thick, curly (type 3a/b) hair, but I've always hated how dry and frizzy it gets. I spent several months trying out different cleansing conditioners until I finally stumbled across DevaCurl No-Poo. Now I love everything about my hair. After 1 wash my hair was softer, shinier, and bouncier than it has ever been. I never thought I'd see the day where I'd be able to run my fingers through my hair. And it lasts! 2 days after I showered my hair still looked great. I shower 2-3 times/wk and use the DevaCurl Frizz-Free Volumizing Foam when my hair is still damp. My one complaint is the price (never paid this much for shampoo before), but it really works. My hair looks and feels better than it ever has so I can't complain too much. I definitely recommend this product to anyone with thick, dry, frizzy, curly hair.

      Comments about DevaCurl No-Poo:

I was really excited about this product because I had seen so many great reviews, unfortunately my experience was less than satisfactory. I did not mind that this product did not lather, and it made my hair feel soft while I was rinsing it, but the problem was clear after my hair dried and became more and more clear after several used... my hair looked greasy. It seemed to leave a build up that weighed down my hair. I also found that I lost curl definition. I have had similar problems with other products before, but this was a big let down because it was so hyped up.

I really enjoy this product because it is gentle and functional for many different hair types. I have fine, wavy-curly hair and it helps give volume and improves curl shape. My husband has course, curlier hair and it also gives his hair great shape. Reduces frizz, too!

              Comments about DevaCurl No-Poo:

I was looking for a product that I could alternate with my normal shampoo and conditioner. Because of sweating and being outside, I wash my hair everyday, but that doesn't bode well with my super dry, frizzy, curly hair. I use this two or three times a week to help keep my hair moisturized and less frizzy. I love that I can wash my hair everyday without feeling guilty now! The only thing I don't like is the strong smell.

I have been conditioning only for a couple of years now. I work outside in a dusty environment, but shampooing every day was taking its toll. I use no- poo between uses of conditioner only. I think my hair looks shinier, and feels healthier.

I've been using No-Poo, One-Condition and the Light defining gel, and I am having trouble with frizz. I tried letting my hair air-dry, and i tried diffusing it but I am still having frizz, and my curls do not stay. I tried using the styling creme as well but am having no luck. Any suggestions? I have fine thick hair that is color treated, Type 2C.

It could be a number of things, but let's start with usage. While using No-Poo, apply to scalp and massage vigorously. Rinse while still using friction. Apply a generous amount of One Condition mid-shaft to ends of hair and detangle with your fingers. Your hair should feel like silky ribbons when you are finished detangling. Then rinse. Tilt head forward, allowing your curls to fall over your head, and gently squeeze excess water out. Apply a generous amount of Light Defining Gel to palms and gently glide over hair, then scrunch upwards. Allow to air dry, without touching. Once completely dry, you can lightly scrunch. If this doesn't solve your frizz concerns, you can apply Styling Cream to hair (for added moisture) prior to using Light Defining Gel.

Using the DevaCurl system from start to finish will reduce frizz! We suggest starting with DevaCurl No-Poo, followed by One Condition and then either Ultra Defining Gel to define curls and/or Styling Cream for additional moisture. Also, adding Heaven in Hair (DevaCurl's deep conditioning treatment) to your regimen will help to provide maximum hydration that your dry hair is looking for.

                          A:

We suggest stopping the use of products that cause build up. Many products contain sulfates that strip your hairs' natural oils and silicones that will weigh down your hair and will continue to build up if you continue to layer them day after day. DevaCurl products are sulfate, silicone and paraben free, as well as water soluble, so they won't build up in your hair. Start with using No-Poo. If your hair currently has build up on it, use it twice in a row the first couple times. Apply No-Poo to your scalp and scrub the scalp vigorously to remove build up and infuse natural moisture. Rinse thoroughly. Then apply One Condition to mid lengths and ends only. Glide downward, detangle with your fingers, and then rinse. Then flip head over and scrunch upward with the DevaTowel (or microfiber towel) to remove excess water. Apply generous amount (palm full) of gel by gliding it over the hair and scrunching upward again. Towel blot if necessary. Then let air dry or diffuse with the DevaFuser.

                          A:

The easiest thing you can do to get gorgeous curls is to ditch shampoo. While your go to foaming formula may smell amazing, it could be creating frizz (and a lot of frustration). Curly hair tends to be drier than straight textures because it is harder for natural oils to travel from the roots all the way to the ends. The harsh ingredients found in many shampoos, like sodium lauryl sufate, ammonium laureth sulfate, etc. strip away much needed moisture. That's why No-Poo, our original zero lather cleanser is such a game changer. No-Poo is gentle, incredibly moisturizing, packed with botanicals and is 100% sulfate, silicone and paraben free. It is great for all hair types. Just be sure to use friction on your scalp with your fingertips while cleansing and while rinsing it out. Follow it up with One Condition, our ultra-creamy daily conditioner, and you'll be left with beautiful, frizz-free curls!

I would recommend using No-Poo, along with either One Condition or Heaven In Hair. It depends upon how dehydrated your hair is. You can alternate between One Condition and Heaven In Hair as a hair masque until hydration is restored. Apply Heaven in Hair to damp hair out of the shower and cover with a plastic cap, with or without heat for 15-30 minutes. Then rinse. During this time, try not to use products that contain sulfates and silicone, as they will prevent moisture from penetrating the hair.

There is the possibility that there is a trace amount of gluten in the wheat proteins/amino acids in No-Poo. We advise those with gluten allergies to avoid this product as a precautionary measure.

We recommend Low-Poo to consumers with wheat/gluten concerns. However, please keep in mind that some of the ingredients in DevaCurl products may have been processed in the same manufacturing facility as wheat/gluten ingredients, so cross contamination is always a possibility.

With Wen you cleanse and use 1 pump as leave in conditioner. Could you use No-Poo as a leave in as well? Any input would be helpful, thanks!

Because you have fine hair, we would suggest that you use Low-Poo to cleanse your scalp. After rinsing, apply One Condition mid-shaft to the ends to detangle. Rinse well. For styling, we suggest Frizz-Free Volumizing Foam applied to very wet hair, and then Light Defining Gel.

You may or may not need a conditioner, depending upon your hair type. If your hair is fine and/or thin, No-Poo may be enough for you. However, if you have coarse, thick, dry or color-treated hair, you may choose to use One Condition (following No-Poo) for added moisturizing, conditioning and detangling.

I have straight hair that's on the fine side and it is also color treated with unnatural colors. With the colors being only semi permanent I know they will always fade, but this formula would help keep my color fresher longer? Also with having straight more fine hair would the shampoo most likely be enough for my hair since it can be weighed down very easily?

Any of our sulfate free cleansers will help prevent color fading. With fine texture, you might prefer DevaCare LowPoo. It has a higher PH than No Poo and will promote a healthy and voluminous texture without weighing the hair down.

No-Poo can be used on all hair types and textures. It is mild enough to use daily. For best results, we recommend using No-Poo in conjunction with One Condition Ultra Creamy Daily Conditioner to provide maximum hydration:

DevaCurl No-Poo can be used for hair that is either straight or being "worn" straight. The key is to evenly disperse product at the scalp and then vigorously stimulate product throughout the scalp in a circular massaging motion. Then rinse VERY well.

DevaCurl No-Poo is an excellent choice for dreadlocks due to its gentle and botanically derived formulation along with its hydrating properties. We suggest using No-Poo on the dreadlocks at the scalp. In this case, a gentle scalp stimulation is best so as not to disturb the curl formation. Again, rinsing thoroughly is key to achieving beneficial results.
