    Comments about DevaCurl No-Poo:

I was introduced to this product by my hairstylist in her salon. Till I was 21 and stopped perming my hair, I didn't know I had curly hair (thought it was poker straight) but I always desired my hair to be a little more curly. One day the salon use DevaCurl and my hair was very curly and I fell in love with the product(s). I purchased the no-poo shampoo, conditioner and curling gel. I couldn't duplicate the look but who can after a trip to a salon? I played around with my hair for about a week and figured out the best way to style. After about a month of using Devacurl, my hair wouldn't style and looked 'blah'. I used a cleansing product to remove the build up and it helped a bit. I switched to another shampoo/condition for a while and then returned to DevaCurl. DevaCurl tends to leave a nasty build-up in my hair as well as my shower (like a previous review stated). I wouldn't say I LOVE this product but I wouldn't say I DISLIKE it either...it's just 'aaaaaaaaaa'

    Overpowering sickening Rose smell!

        Comments about DevaCurl No-Poo:

First purchased this product as part of the Deva Curl Travel Kit a month ago & fell in love with it. Decided to pick up the full size bottles of everything in the travel kit & was surprised and dismayed when I opened the No-Poo that the smell was totally different & actually "knocked my socks off" so to speak, as the Rose smell was so overpowering. I did a double check on the label and ingredients & everything was identical - did they recently change the fragrance? All I know is that instead of the wonderful light refreshing lemon-mintyness that I loved in the travel size, this instead had a sickening overpowering antique shop rose smell that lingered around my head for hours after using it. It was so strong, that I actually got a sore throat. So disappointing, as I love the product itself. Doesn't help that the One Condition also has a very strong smell (I managed to deal with that one barely), so that when combined now with the Rose smell, it's like a chem lab experiment gone bad. Truly ashame, because I really like these products & was excited to continue using them.

          Comments about DevaCurl No-Poo:

I like it and feel it is comparable to other no suds cleansers for a bit less. The smell reminds me of cold cream, which I like. However, I have almost fallen several times because it leaves the tub or shower floor very slick - so much so that I am rethinking future purchases.

                Comments about DevaCurl No-Poo:

This has to be the worse product for curly hair. I tried devacurl before and I should of known better than to try any more of their over priced products. I have type 3b-c curly hair and it left my hair extremely matted that i panicked in the shower i had to use A LOT of conditioner to get the tangles out which cost me a lot of hair. I would not recommend their products to anyone. Tangled my hair and left my scalp extremely dry. Going to return it ASAP.

The easiest thing you can do to get gorgeous curls is to ditch shampoo. While your go to foaming formula may smell amazing, it could be creating frizz (and a lot of frustration). Curly hair tends to be drier than straight textures because it is harder for natural oils to travel from the roots all the way to the ends. The harsh ingredients found in many shampoos, like sodium lauryl sufate, ammonium laureth sulfate, etc. strip away much needed moisture. That's why No-Poo, our original zero lather cleanser is such a game changer. No-Poo is gentle, incredibly moisturizing, packed with botanicals and is 100% sulfate, silicone and paraben free. It is great for all hair types. Just be sure to use friction on your scalp with your fingertips while cleansing and while rinsing it out. Follow it up with One Condition, our ultra-creamy daily conditioner, and you'll be left with beautiful, frizz-free curls!

I would recommend using No-Poo, along with either One Condition or Heaven In Hair. It depends upon how dehydrated your hair is. You can alternate between One Condition and Heaven In Hair as a hair masque until hydration is restored. Apply Heaven in Hair to damp hair out of the shower and cover with a plastic cap, with or without heat for 15-30 minutes. Then rinse. During this time, try not to use products that contain sulfates and silicone, as they will prevent moisture from penetrating the hair.

Yes, you should definitely expect a new and different feeling when using No-Poo. The hair will actually feel moist and you will be able to run your fingers through it. Rinse with hot or warm water and scrub your scalp while rinsing.

There is the possibility that there is a trace amount of gluten in the wheat proteins/amino acids in No-Poo. We advise those with gluten allergies to avoid this product as a precautionary measure.

We recommend Low-Poo to consumers with wheat/gluten concerns. However, please keep in mind that some of the ingredients in DevaCurl products may have been processed in the same manufacturing facility as wheat/gluten ingredients, so cross contamination is always a possibility.

Because you have fine hair, we would suggest that you use Low-Poo to cleanse your scalp. After rinsing, apply One Condition mid-shaft to the ends to detangle. Rinse well. For styling, we suggest Frizz-Free Volumizing Foam applied to very wet hair, and then Light Defining Gel.

You may or may not need a conditioner, depending upon your hair type. If your hair is fine and/or thin, No-Poo may be enough for you. However, if you have coarse, thick, dry or color-treated hair, you may choose to use One Condition (following No-Poo) for added moisturizing, conditioning and detangling.

I have straight hair that's on the fine side and it is also color treated with unnatural colors. With the colors being only semi permanent I know they will always fade, but this formula would help keep my color fresher longer? Also with having straight more fine hair would the shampoo most likely be enough for my hair since it can be weighed down very easily?

Any of our sulfate free cleansers will help prevent color fading. With fine texture, you might prefer DevaCare LowPoo. It has a higher PH than No Poo and will promote a healthy and voluminous texture without weighing the hair down.
