This product took a couple of uses to get used to, once I learned how to work it, it became quick to use. The problem I encountered was that the wand made my hair smell awful... Burnt. I have thick, semi-coarse hair. The waves hold very good, which is not always possible with my heavy locks, but the smell is unforgivable.

I purchased this for my daughter as she requested for Christmas of 2012. She has naturally wavy thick hair. She tried to use it immediately and was a bit dissappointed but after she purchased some hair spray to help hold the curls, she loved it. After using the "clamp" style curling irons for years, it takes just a bit of adjustment to get use to this type but she loves it now.

I have naturally coarse, curly hair. I can let my hair air dry, then use this curler to make super soft, manageable curls/waves. When I curl my hair, I get LOTS of compliments!

I have been using CHI products my whole life and bought this wand to make large waves I have very thick long hair. I used it a few times and had little to no results it curled initially but turned flat with in 30 minutes. My other CHI curly iron keeps my hair wavy all day without the use of hair spray. I am going to return this product and possibly exchange it for a smaller barrel size.

I bought the straightener thinking that was what my daughter wanted for her birthday so we exchanged it for this curling iron - and she is in love with it. She said it is very easy to use and she has fine thin stick straight hair.
