Its a good product, but this day and age the only time someone should take this much time to shave would be maybe on a weekend or special event. Dont get me wrong, I love to shave...everyday! I pamper the mess out of myself. Usually start with Face Wash, scrub, shave, after shave and moisturize.
This product was used along with the old school thick shave, badger brush, etc. Its fun to use, smells great and reduces friction and all. But its just too time consuming. If you go this route, be cautious of your razor selection this product Will clog your Fusion style multiple blade razors. Its best used with the old school style razor or straight razor. Oh and it makes clean up a bit more messy because its oil.

This stuff as well as the whole Art of Shaving line of products is great. I discovered this line about 7 years ago after trying every product imaginable. I hate shaving, my face hates shaving and I would get a pile of ingrown hairs by the end of the week after shaving for the whole work week. I started using this pre shave oil, the shaving cream and brush and the after shave lotion all in the sensitive skin/lavender line and a huge improvement…I still hate shaving, but my face doesn't as much. Word to the wise…use the oil sparingly, a lot goes a long way…i found if you use too much it can actually clog your razor blades and decrease the life of your razor…I typically get a week out of my razor before I chuck it. Great stuff!

I bought this for my husband, I can really feel the difference in his skin when he uses this before shaving. It leaves his face very smooth and gives an incredibly close shave! My husband loves sandalwood so I was really excited about the scent, unfortunately it smells different than sandalwood, not bad though.
