My hair is very thick, long, and bleached. I have trouble finding products that actually work on my hair without drying. This iron smooths like a straightener but adds a nice large curl. You can smooth your hair to the ends and then curl it under or out for a finished look. I was surprised to find that my hair was still smooth and soft the next day after sleeping on it. Usually it is getting frizzy again and I have to restyle. With this iron, I only have to touch up! The only drawback is that the temp controls are designed in such a way on the handle that it is hard not to bump them when styling. But, performance-wise, I really like this product. If it works well on my thick bleached hair, I'm sure if would work well on any hair. One more thing, because it heats up to 380 like a flat iron, you don't need to leave it in long in your hair. I heat mine to 360 and only leave it in my hair for a few seconds. I get a nice smooth loose wave that lasts!

It works alright, but not the best I've used. The spring should be a little tighter to hold your hair when curling it. I tried to push the lever from the bottom side to tighten it as I used it, but got burned by the metal part under the clamp. Not loving it as much as I hoped I would.

The John Frieda Curling Iron has many great features that high end curling irons offer plus I like the sleek design. The ability to reach selected temperature quickly along with the swivel cord helps to speed up styling time. The LED numeric temperature feature is easy to read. I can always count on John Frieda products to help reduce frizz!

Great Piece for the Price. The button is a whole bar so sometimes when holding it, you push it and the temperature changes.
