Comments about Real Techniques Core Collection:

This handy little brush set is definitely for every day use, or traveling. The stand is useful for both display and actual use, they don't take up much space in a travel makeup bag and they work great.
While I would've liked a powder brush included in this set, I think the buffing brush works well for powders so I still enjoy this brush set. I really enjoy the synthetic material, the price, and well, the brushes! They all work great for me and even though they are meant for specific uses, I can use the foundation brush for setting powder over my concealer, the detail brush I sometimes use for eyeshadows, these brushes have more than one use which I very much enjoy.
I would repurchase if something happened to my kit, and I do recommend this. Real Techniques has not disappointed me.

I love this set! The brushes are soft and the folding carrying case is so handy! I had no idea how much better makeup goes on with GOOD brushes. I like this set so much that I got the purple one too. It's fabulous for eye makeup and smaller applications.

Comments about Real Techniques Core Collection:

Forget expensive brushes, these are reasonably priced and great quality. I've been searching for the perfect mix of soft and dense brushes and their core collection (and expert brush) are it. They are unlike feathery brushes that you can rub your fingers through, they pickup the right amt. of (powder) foundation, and blends nice and evenly. I'm done searching for brushes, I am totally satisfied. Bottom line, if anything happen to these brushes I would have to repurchase R. T.; searching for other brushes would be a waste of time and money.

Comments about Real Techniques Core Collection:

Best brushes I've used. Love the buffing brush for foundation application, and actually prefer to use the foundation brush for concealer. Adore the contour brush. Absolutely does its job,but people have noticed that my contour/bronzer looks less harsh than it did before with a higher end amd more pricey brush. It's also great for highlighter application. Wish a fluffy powder brush had been included but was able to purchase one separately

Amazing core collection of basic brushes that get the job done in just a few swirls, taps and strokes. The bristles are nice and soft, yet firm and pliable enough to create a smooth and flawless finish. I use this set EVERYDAY for my face, though I have a myriad of brushes from low end to very high end. Plus, the case is super handy and makes it easy to store in your vanity or while you're travelling.

I haven't washed mine yet, but I've used them on a daily basis and am very pleased. I love the buffing brush and the contour brush, they are excellent. I plan to buy all of the others!

Comments about Real Techniques Core Collection:

I've read alot about the models who designed this line and heard even more about what great quality these brushes exemplify - after rigorous research, I finally went and bought the set, and let me say, I'm so glad I did!!!
All the brushes in this set are very sturdy and well built - the bristles are of high quality and I have had no fall out after multiple uses and cleanings. Very soft, very easily cleaned and dry quickly. The body of the brushes are fittingly designed for each purpose they serve. Pigmentation payoff is considerably decent for their compact size, being travel size brushes. Individually:
                              - Blush Brush
The dome of the brush's head is perfect for applying blush to just the right places. The cheekbones and apples of the cheek are very easily accessed, and the brush picks up just the right amount of product for perfect glowing cheeks.
                              - Powder Foundation Brush
Definitely my favorite brush from this set. Perfect for buffering on powder foundation, especially mineral based products. The only thing i can think off that I wish was different is that the head of the brush was just a bit bigger in circumference, but then again, there's only so much you can ask from a travel size brush, and this brush goes above and beyond in my opinion.
                              - Liquid Foundation Brush
I'm not a big liquid foundation fan, but when I do use liquid this brush always gets the job done. Application is smooth and streak free - a definite plus to a set I bought solely for the powder brushes.
                              - Concealer Brush
This brush picks up just the right amount of concealer for those tricky spots and niches of the face - I've only used liquid and cream concealer with this brush, respectively, and application is perfect every time.

The one downfall of these brushes is when applying non-mineral based product, there is lots of fallout - just be careful not to pick up to much product during application and you should be fine.
All in all, if you're looking for a good face brush set to start out with or just need some good brushes to travel with, I highly recommend looking into this set.

Is the contour brush the same as their setting brush? If not what is the difference (besides the name lol). Thanks

While both are designed as finishing brushes, their brush head size and shape differ, so they offer different functions:

The Setting Brush has a smaller, pointed shaped head for precision. This is great for setting under eye concealer, getting into the “hard to reach” areas, and highlighting the cheekbones.

The Contour Brush in the Core Collection has a larger head than the setting brush. It also differs with a rounded head and is dense for applying more product. It can be used with darker powders for contouring effects as well as highlighting powders for the cheekbones.

We recommend using the Detailer Brush within this collection to effortlessly conceal problem areas and blend concealer with makeup.
