The magnification is warped/skewed when looking in it. It is not a true representation and you have to keep moving the mirror around to try to get a good view of what you're trying to see.

I always keep one of these magnifying mirrors in my make-up travel bag. I always have to keep replacing them because I leave it on the mirror in the hotel bathroom! Couldn't see to put my mascara on without it.

The magnification is powerful, but the mirror area is quite small. If you are behind a bathroom cabinet that is deep, it is hard to get close enough to the actual mirror. After all, that's why you buy a magnifying mirror, right?
