Firstly, when you switch shampoo's, you must allow about a month (give or take depending on frequency of use) for your scalp and hair to adjust. Due to different "recipes" with the shampoo's, of course you would notice several changes. THOSE GO AWAY WITH TIME AND CONTINUED USE. THE MORE FREQUENTLY YOU CHANGE SHAMPOO'S, THE WORSE IT IS FOR YOUR HAIR.
I have been using Redken Allsoft since 2002 (12 YEARS!!!). I cannot believe it's been that long. The one downside is the COST! However, I have been lucky enough over the last decade plus to have always found it on sale. I may have purchased it once or twice at regular price (and only bought small bottles then). I was buying by the liter, now I'm up to a gallon at a time (which lasts me about a year at 3-4 shampoo's per week).
My hair is vibrant and shiny always. The silk-luxe complex was the best recipe change idea Redken had in a long time. My hair has great elasticity to it. I can stay a loose hair and actually see that effect. If my hair is damaged from chlorine, sun, etc. it doesn't take long for Redken Allsoft to fix it.
I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU NEED A LOT OF PRODUCT ALONG WITH THIS. I use a wide tooth comb in the shower to comb thru the conditioner and let it sit a couple minutes. Then, ONCE A WEEK AT MOST, I mix some keratin and Morroccan Oil together and blend it in. I have never seen the need to add excessive product. My hair is down to my waist... thanks to this shampoo. Prior to 12 years ago, I always had short hair because it just never looked healthy.
Using this shampoo in combination with haircut and a good stylist that isn't frying your hair with coloring and bleaching too frequently will fix anything!
You can't have your hair look like a million bucks if you're only spending pennies.

Parents Great Detangler!
By No More Tangles
from Florence, Kentucky
This review is for the parents! I have a 9 year old and for someone so young to have such dry and knoted hair is crazy. For years we've been pulling her hair out just trying to brush thru it. Of course we were using cheaper products and also purchase a detangler, but none of it helped.
I just purchased this Redken shampoo and conditioner and used it on her hair and let me tell you it's worth every penny. I washed her hair myself to see the results and I could actually run my fingers thru her hair during just the shampooing. That has NEVER happen before. So the conditioner is just added mostiure for her hair. I then let my husband brush her hair after we used the product and he was just as impressed. No more fighting tangles makes everyone happy!

Not for me
from Martinsburg, WV
I bought this after having been using Loreal's Total Repair 5 for about 2 years. I never had any problems out of that shampoo, but I figured I'd try something new and more high end to see if I could get my hair even more healthy. Bad idea. I've used the shampoo and conditioner and leave in spray a total of 3 times and my hair feels awful. Yeah, it's kind of soft but it's also tangled, the ends are rough, and, worst of all, it's breaking. I'm not sure if it's the argan oil or the protein complex (I know that when it comes to protein, too much IS a bad thing, and my hair is already healthy.) I thought that this seemed like the best bet for my hair; even the stylist who helped me choose these products said I had chosen the right products, but it was a big miss this time.

meh, is that it
By Tame the mane
from Tampa, Fl
I have curly dry hair. Its dryer, frizzier and tangly-er in the bottom layer. Personally I think I may have expected too much from this product (probably because of the price tag) but it didn't do much more than a cheap drugstore conditioner. I finished it up but I probably wont repurchase because personally I need more moisture for detangling.

Made my hair fall out!!!
By Lauren Lawstudent
I am very dissatisfied with this product. I have fine, straight hair and I did have a lot of it...until I started using this product! This product caused buildup in my scalp, uncontrollable dandruff, and massive amounts of shedding. Also, instead of making my hair soft and silky, it made my hair dry and straw-like.
I thought that my scalp may have just been overly sensitive, so I gave both the shampoo and matching conditioner to a friend. Within a few uses, she had all the same issues. I am surprised to have had such a bad experience with this product. In the past, I have used the Redken Extreme line and absolutely loved it. Sadly, this product is not a good one for me.

Left my hair a complete mess
from Denver, CO
I bought a trial-size of this Shampoo after reading all the rave reviews. After just one use, my normally Medium-Brown (colored) hair looked dull and stripped of it color. It also left my fine, wavy hair completely dried-out and lifeless looking. I am a Shampoo-aholic and have and continue to try-out numerous Shampoos, but I must say this is by far the most damaging Shampoo that I have used in quite some time. I immediately tossed the bottle out.
I have not had much luck with Redken products (I have tried their full-hair Shampoo previously with lackluster results also).

great product but changed my hair color
from baton rouge, LA
I really enjoyed this shampoo for my highlighted hair, I bought the liter bottle past year, loved the smell and all, but I noticed for the past few months my blonde hair would looked darker, thought it was the highlight kit but the salon used the kit for years. Then I read a blog where argan oil sometimes darkens blonde hair and I read the ingredients and sure enough there's arganine which is argan oil, I looked it up to see. I love Redken and I have their other shampoos that helps with dryness and my blondeness is back too. I will have to pass this one from now on, probably check out the glam blonde shampoo next time.

Love! Love! Love!
By sarah a
from san marcos, tx
I did buy this during the liter sale back in July (was it July?), so there's no way I could complain about price. I was trying to grow my hair out and was recovering from sun damage, so I thought the soft shampoo would work well. I love it. I'm all out finally, was growing from a buzz cut so the bottle lasted a really long time. I can't wait for the next sale! The shampoo really made a difference with my thick, dry hair. Now my hair is still thick, but also longer and super soft! I can definitely tell a difference when I use another shampoo, even after a day!
