Needed a hair dryer/diffuser for a trip. This dryer was a great size. I almost like it more than my everyday dryer I use at home.

Comments about Hot Tools Dryer Travel Purple #HT1044:

I really did enjoy using this on my vacation. The fact that it is dual voltage is a significant advantage. The one downfall for a girl with curly hair like me, is the diffuser lets too much air come through at one time. This meant that I had to dry my hair on the lower setting in order for my curls not to become tangled.

I'm very surprised by any of the reviews that said that this dryer isn't travel-friendly. It is very small and light!! Even the diffuser attachment is very portable! Also, I'm very pleased with how quiet it is - especially compared to my last travel dryer. The only thing that I'd improve is the power of the cool-shot feature. But as a travel dryer, I am very pleased with this item!

I was looking for a new ionic travel hairdryer, and thought I'd found it at ulta.com. It is, as advertised, light weight, but it is too large for a travel dryer. My old travel hairdryer with dual voltage is a quarter of the size of this one. If compact is what you are looking for, this is not for you.

This is a very good travel dryer as it is small, light and packs easily. I really like the concentrator attachment as it leave my hair smoother than without it. In less than 3 weeks I have traveled with it twice and have been very happy.

The only downside and this is common to most travel dryers is that due to the short barrel you have to be careful of getting your hair too hot.

                  I would buy this again.

                        A:

No, that is not true. What you'll need to do is to turn the switch on the back of the handle of this dryer from 125V to 250V when in another country and the dryer will work as it does in the U.S.

                        A:

On the handle of the dryer, the part that comes in contact with your palm, there is a black screw that says 125v or 250v and all one does when using it in Europe is to turn the voltage to 250v. This can be done with a flat head screwdriver, a stiff fingernail or even a paperclip to turn it.

How do you use this dryer in Europe? Do you need a converter or a plug adapter? Do you turn the slot on the handle to 220? If so, how do you turn it?

                        A:

One will need a plug adapter depending on the country that one is in. There is a switch that changes the dryer from 125V to 250V on the handle of the dryer that makes it compatible with European standards. That’s how one adjusts the voltage.
