This shampoo is not best used to clean hair or roots. Its best to just treat and apply on your colored sections or hair that is blonde. Does a great job in keeping hair toned, it prevents hair from getting brassy. What I do is apply my favorite shampoo at my roots and lather and then apply this shampoo on my colored blonde hair/ highlights. This shampoo doesn't really lather. You must also use the AG colored hair conditioner because it smoothes out the hair after the shampoo strips the oil off. Just wish the product wasn't so expensive.

My hair tends to get very brassy very quickly when I dye it blonde. However, by using this shampoo and leaving it on for 5 minutes before rinsing, it makes all brassiness go away! Even when I used it for the very first time, I got tons of compliments on how blonde and shiny my hair looked.

I love love love this shampoo. I got it for more than half off when ulta was having that liter bottle promotion and since I use it only twice a week I have a feeling that it will last me for a very long time

Works well to tone blonde or highlighted hair. You only need to use it every other or every third wash.

I've decided if the gray hairs are going to come, they might as well be fabulous. I bought this to help make the grays shine and act more like highlights. I am happy with how my hair feels and responds. I paired with AG sleek argan conditioner.

conditions great on fine hair. My hair is naturally very light blonde but is darker underneath in the winter. This product did help blend the different shades of blonde, added body and shine

I highlight my hair and have tried just about every violet toning shampoo. This is the only one I have used that actually cleans my hair without drying it out and is effective at removing brassy/yellow tones.
