Comments about Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation:

This foundation has a beautiful sheen finish to it but it has shimmer in it! Why on earth would anyone put shimmer in a foundation and why does everything that is "brightening" have shimmer in it!? I don't want to put on a foundation, go near a light or walk into the sunlight and have my entire face shimmering. Im 30 years old, not four. So disappointed by this. Without the shimmer, it could have been a spectacular powder foundation.

First, i know this is a foundation, but i wanted a natural looking bronzer for the summer and contouring. Its been difficult finding one that i really like. This one is perfect. Its very natural looking and smooth. I use a beauty blender to apply under my cheek bones and sides of my nose. Its not too dark for my skin and blends well with my cream foundation and blush so it never looks streaked or choppy.

                    • Q:

I'm using the medium shade but could also use the fair. I would prefer a brighter look for my under eye area. Could I use the porcelain shade for that or would that be to much of a contrast?

                        A:

I would recommend switching from the medium to the fair. Because this product has multi-pigmented swirls of color, it will blend in seamlessly with the rest of your skin tone and you'll never have that line of demarkation under your jawline. I am afraid the porcelain will be much to light for you... the fair should be perfect. I am more of a medium and I wear the fair because I love the brightening effect it delivers. Enjoy!

                    • Q:

Because the product is a swirl of colors and not fully mixed, is there a concern that as I continue to use the product, it will reveal just just the white or a paler color?
Some have said the color changed as they got deeper into the product. Thank you in advance.

                        A:

This is a completely logical concern, however I can tell you from 5 years experience using this product, the color will stay the same overall shade until the very end. Make sure that you swirl your brush throughout the entire compact so that the brissles look like the are picking up each shade. It also helps to use a somewhat lager powder brush, like a kabuki brush. Enjoy!

No, it does not. I recommend using a moisturizer that contains SPF or our Spackle SPF 30 first, and then the Balance-n-Brighten.

                        A:

Anything that is large, dense, and fluffy will give you the most coverage and the most airbrushed look. The most important thing to look for is that the brissles should be sense enough to grab the pigmentation for optimal blurring and coverage. IT Cosmetics has some great options!

                        A:

This is a foundation that has medium-buildable coverage. It will not completely cover brown spots as well as concealer would, but it does a great job at color-correcting the skin tone and evening everything out! It will cover redness and simply make the complexion look bright, even, and pretty covered. I would definitely recommend this as your every day foundation, and if you need a little more coverage on certain areas, you can always pop a little concealer on. Enjoy!

                        A:

You should be able to use this product without any fear! We are a very skincare driven brand, so this product contains jojoba oil (hydrating and skin loving), and botanicals that have free radical and antioxidant protection. It's paraben free and mineral oil free, and extremely light weight so I definitely think this product will be perfect for you. I recommend using it with a Spackle Primer... A primer will also protect your skin and hold the makeup on longer. Spackle Soothjng is a great choice for sensitive skin. Absolutely! When I want a little more coverage, I'll use my Spackle Primer, a liquid foundation, and then the Balance-n-Brighten. It looks gorgeous combined with any liquid. On days where I don't want as much coverage, I'll simply use the Balance directly over Spackle with no liquid. It'll give medium/buildable coverage in both cases. Enjoy!
