This product (in combination with the topcoat) was recommended to smooth and shine glitter polish (which tends to dry dull and bumpy). The basecoat is designed to smooth ridges and bumps on the nail surface and so it works great to get in between all those tiny flakes of glitter. I applied two coats over my glitter tips (done w/an Orly multi-size glitter) and then finished with the same brand topcoat. My nails were smooth and shiny until I changed polish a few days later. I tend to be really hard on my nails and my nails are natural, not acrylic, so I can't really speak to the product's "lifespan". I bought it specifically for finishing a glitter manicure and it did the job excellently.

This is the best base coat. I haven't found any that is better.

This product was ok. The shine was good, but it took forever to dry, even though it was supposed to dry quickly. Then it made the color that goes over it runny. Not impressed.

Great product. My polish lasted for at least 5-7 days. It does not have any of the harmful chemicals in it, something I really look for in a nail product.
