smells like a fishbowl :(

By Sara Jane

from Harleysville, pa

Comments about Philosophy Hope In a Jar:

the texture couldn't be more luxurious. I had the highest hopes for this on my 37 year old, combination, sun damaged skin. it truly leaves my face remarkably smooth.... BUT THE SMELL! FOR A COMPANY RICH OFF OF LUXIORIOSLY SCENTED PRODUCTS, I HAVE NEVER SMELLED ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN A BEAUTY PRODUCT. I could see if this was for legs or feet, but instead is all over your face! Sometimes I just try to focus on my forehead and wrinkles around my eyes but it doesn't matter it lingers up my nose and all I can smell it is something equivalent to a fishbowl. Not a pleasant smell. In fact it's incredibly unpleasant smelling I still have about 2 thirds of a jar left after just about 6 months ago. I really wish I had just returned it right away for tomorrow product. if

Comments about Philosophy Hope In a Jar:

It is a great moisturizer. I have been using for just a month and I can see a result of a soften skin, however it is winter, so my skin is drier, so the "wet" feeling absorbs fast and gives my face a perfect glow. easy to apply and spread onto the skin. the smell not so great, but I got used to it. so far, I loved!,

Comments about Philosophy Hope In a Jar:

I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times: I have SUPER oily skin. Like even with mattifying makeup and powder, I will still soak through a blotting sheet an hour after application. BUT it's also winter in Minnesota and it gets super cold and dry. I've developed dry patches on the sides of my face and nothing would make them go away. My skin felt tight in those areas and was flaky. I decided to give this a try because I had heard good things.

I use it after I wash my face at night, and a little bit in the morning after my normal Neutrogena moisturizer, just on the dry flaky spots. I love the souffle texture, the smell is okay. A little bit goes a long way! I've noticed a huge reduction in the flakiness of my skin. It's smoother and more supple. I do think it takes a bit to absorb into my skin. It feels just a little bit greasy right after application. But at night that doesn't really concern me, and in the morning, I can't tell once I put my makeup on. It also never caused me to break out at all.

Overall, I love this product! It's been a godsend for the dry flaky patches on my otherwise oily skin.

                A:

because eczema is a diagnosed skin condition, we always recommend that you check with your physician before using any new products. hope in a jar moisturizer does contain lactic acid, which will offer gentle exfoliation and may help to minimize the appearance of pores.

hope in a jar is made with a natural essential lavender oil. the lavender oil is what creates the distinct scent that you may have noticed. the scent will slowly fade after application.
