Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

I was so hesitant to purchase this simply because of the price, but I can honestly tell you that it is worth it! I have had acne (from PCOS/hormonal issues) since I was 11. I had bad scars on my cheeks from it. My make up couldn't cover it and they looked terrible. I am 29 and decided to give this a shot in a trial size. After a month of use, my acne scars are 90% gone! My skin has honestly never looked this good. I have minimal breakouts and my make up looks wonderful. I will continue to buy this despite the smell (smells like boxed hair dye!). Do yourself a favor and try this product! My skin is extremely dry and it definitely helps. I cleanse with First Aid Beauty cleanser and use a Neutrogena acne toner. Seems I have found my dream team :)

Not the best moisturizer out there

    By juarek

    from Oklahoma

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

I've never tried Philosophy products before but I've heard good things. This is the first product I tried. It was recommended by the store associate. First of all, I thought it was a little pricey for what you get. It feels very smooth going on but I felt it didn't provide the moisture I was needing. The smell is definitely a turn off. Kinda has a plastic smell to it. I have very sensitive skin and my face felt itchy after applying it.

    Will Not Purchase

    By christinasbeautylist.blogger.com

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

I received a small sample of this in my last online order from Ulta, and I'm so glad I had the chance to try before I considered buying... it was just terrible all around. Just upon opening the packet I was bombarded with such a strong, chemically, pseudo - lavender soapy scent. I honestly can't express how bad it truly was. Maybe I just got a bad/expired sample, because I know a lot of people don't mind the scent, but I thought it was horrendous. Hoping the stench would fade, I decided to try it anyway in case the formulation itself was decent. Unfortunately, it was not impressive. I used it before bed, and I usually prefer a heavier moisturizer at night time. This moisturizer was not only too thin, but too greasy as well so it would not be practical to use under makeup in the morning either. Overall I was extremely disappointed with this sample and I'm sad to say I will never purchase this product.

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

I really don't understand the complaints about the smell. I am pregnant and am super sensitive to smell right now and find it light and clean smelling. I have mild rosacea with some sensitivity. This does not burn or aggravate my skin. It is very light so for the winter I might need to try the dry skin version since I do get flaking. So far very happy I tried this product.

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

When I first saw this I was SHOCKED at how much it was, I even felt like I was in a drunken haze when I brought it to the register, but after trying so many moisturizers that irritated my sensitive skin, I thought I'd give it a fighting chance. I've been using it for about a week and I've noticed a difference in softness and blemishes reduced. You only need a little, so the jar with last quite a while. I really don't think it lives up to all the hype though and I'll probably continue to look elsewhere, probably only purchasing it as a last resort.

Used this before a few years ago. Tried again after talking to a girl that works there that loves the brand. I do really like it and it hasn't made me break out any more than my previous moisturizer. Definitely feel a difference in my skin since I started using it.
