Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

I bought this product after being very happy with the Purity Cleanser but I have not had a good experience with Hope In A Jar. First off, it smells awful. It smells like chemicals. In the jar, it looks creamy and like it would be very hydrating, but when it goes on the skin it feels so watery and it doesn't feel like anything is going on the skin. I haven't noticed any improvements in my skin from using it, but there hasn't been any negative changes either. Definitely not worth the money.

I received this as a sample in my latest Ulta purchase. I have fairly dry skin and I was so excited to try it out. It went on so smoothly and felt amazing. The only problem is the smell. It was terrible. I could not get over the smell. That smell definitely outweighs all the pros. I washed my hands and still couldn't get the smell off them. I want to love it but the smell is too awful! Please fix the smell!

I wanted to love this stuff. It works so well. But the smell is so overpowering. I usually love lavender, but the lavender oil they have added to this is no joke. It burned my eyes. I can't say I will be using this again. I will stick to the Take a Deep Breath moisturizer.

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

I have tried every single facial moisturizer available, and from every brand and line, too. I bought this because it received excellent reviews. However, it was slightly greasy and was like using plain mineral oil cream. I had been using the Olay 7 Effects daily for about 8 years when I tried this one. Honestly? I was not impressed. It didn't do anything for evening tone or texture. I used the entire jar for about 2 months hoping for something to happen...but nothing. Actually, my skin missed the 7 Effects lotion a lot. I noticed a reversal in my once-even tone and texture. So, I returned to the 7 Effects. While this isn't a bad product, I just don't see any improvement. At all. (Sorry.) And for the price, it should do...something.

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

I'd read about Philosophy's quality of products, and recently transitioned to their line for many products: Purity cleanser, microdelivery exfoliants, Hope in a Jar moisturizer, night cream, and foundation. I have been VERY satisfied with the results: reduction in adult acne (fewer blemishes, quick healing) and discoloration (from acne scars, slight sun damage). My skin feels/looks great.
I use this moisturizer in conjunction with the Hope In a Jar liquid foundation; love the combination! the moisturizer is light, blends/absorbs well. my skin feels soft/smooth.

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

When I first tried this I noticed drying of my skin. I had to use an additional moisturizer for the first four weeks. Then the magic happened! My skin was smoother and fine lines were not as noticeable. My skin feels soft without an additional moisturizer. I have very sensitive skin and believe it took a while for my skin to get used to it. Now I love it! So hang in there if your skin is dry in the beginning....it will get better!!!

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

Not sure why people are complaining about the smell. Maybe they are getting old products? It smells clean and fresh to me. Not overpowering at all. This product has done amazing things to my skin. I was having dryness around my nose, cheeks and chin and once I started using this, my skin instantly started to look supple and plump. No complaints- except the price!

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar:

I've always loved Philsophy products, so I got one of their sets for Christmas last year.

Overall, I was not very impressed with Hope in a Jar. Yes, it moisturizes. Yes, it absorbs well. However, I didn't feel that it lasted very long and I did not really see any change in my skin. I think the formula is a little thin and could stand to be thicker/more moisturizing. (And I have normal/combination skin so I don't have super dry skin to begin with)

Hope in a Jar provides lightweight moisture, gentle exfoliation, and antioxidant protection against premature aging, while Miracle Worker provides richer moisture and targets more advanced signs of aging with the highest level of antioxidants of any Philosophy moisturizer.
