I use this to cover gray roots when I am late with my hair dye schedule. Works well, but must be applied very lightly or will make hair look gummy or greasy. Watch out for blobs of product at base of brush. Put them on a piece of waxed paper and use brush to pick it up lightly.

I use it after a shampoo. It's quick and in a portable container approximately the size of mascara.

I received this product in my Christmas stocking, so I decided to give it a try as it seemed like it would be very useful. I have very dark, fine hair, and my roots are always showing. Here is why I don't like Oscar Blandi's Touch Up pen:

1) The color washes out with the first shampoo, so it has no staying power
2) The brush applicator and the free brush it comes with, are not effective in getting the color onto the white/gray hairs. If you are targeting the little white hairs close to the scalp, chances are you'll get the dye onto the scalp and not the hair. If you are targeting a longer strand of hair, the dye will clump.
3) Until now, I have always used mascara to cover up stray white hairs and it has worked effectively because mascara brushes apply the dye effectively onto individual hairs. I still find mascara to be a better tool for covering up stray white hairs.
So for me, there's absolutely not a single good reason to pay $12-19 for this product when inexpensive mascara works better.

The color was fine but the product doesn't dry in 5 min. or even in 5 hours.
If you touch your hair at all it rubs off on your fingers and if your head touches any clothes or furniture it rubs off on there too. It also feel kind
of gunky, will never buy again and plan to return to Ulta asap!

Sales person suggested this product due to the high recognition of the name. Also she suggested the color which turned out to be too light and red for me. May have served better as a highlight rather than covering out growth of gray.
I returned it as a result and stuck with the other product I have been using.
Didn't care for the way it needed to be applied either.

I bought the cheap stuff and this to compare the two. The other went in the trash after one use of the Oscar Blandi. Covers the gray, blends in with other hair color, and lasts throughout the day...and into the next day.
