After three days of use hair is heavy and feels course. Wash hair with shampoo every few days and product is great! I think I will have to try "Wen" product to compare. Half cost of Wen.

Comments about Matrix Biolage Cleansing Conditioner For Curly Hair:

It is a one-step process...apply, leave it on for about 5-8 min while you wash and then rinse. I use it every other shampooing or some weeks daily. It is GREAT! It has kept my hair looking so much better and it is in better condition too...even my hairdresser agrees! Be aware that it does NOT lather...you need about 6-8 pumps for medium length (and sometimes more if you've been outside a bunch).

        I HIGHLY recommend it.

I have thick, wavy, long hair and I love the entire Biolage line. Being able to have one product to do it all makes everything so much better. I will note however that stylists say to wash your hair with a shampoo that gets rid of build up every once in awhile, and that's exactly what I do. Thank you Biolage for continuing to impress!!

Major bummer. I tried this formula in both the one for curly hair and the one for course hair. I have very thick/curly hair. Both turned my hair into a straw like frizzy mess that I could not even comb thru. Horrible! My hair has never looked worse in my life.

I am sure the product is fine for some but it leaves my hair heavy. My curls and waves are weighted down. When I use this product I find myself straightening my hair which is not why I purchased the product.

I am an African American female with naturally curly hair. I don't want to use a curly chemical on my hair. I don't want the Afro frizzy look. does the defining gel crème and cleansing conditioner for curly hair work on my hair?

                    A:

Both products you inquired about are formulated to meet the needs of curly hair. The Defining Gel Creme will provide curl definition and curl control. Application of this product should be applied root to ends to help in frizz control. You may also want to consult with your Matrix stylist on additional application methods for variety styling.

Biolage Cleansing Conditioners are low foam, which means it contains mostly conditioning agents with some mild cleansing agents, that doesn't strip. A 2-IN-1 contains more shampoo than conditioner which strips hair strands and causes build-up.

I have very curly hair and have used this product for two weeks. I love everything about the results other than it leaves my hair oily. I follow up with curl creme and anti frizz styling products, both from this same line so I'd like to know if this oiliness is from the cleansing conditioner or possibly the styling products. I have tried switching back to my old styling products but it still leaves my hair oily. Any help is appreciated because I'd love to give this product another try!

                    A:

First, we'd like to ensure that you are using the product as directed for best results. Matrix Biolage Cleansing Conditioner For Curly Hair is suitable for daily use or in between traditional shampooing. If you are experiencing oiliness, we suggest alternating use with a traditional shampoo. It is recommended to use 6-8 pumps of Cleansing Conditioner depending on your hair length and density. Apply to wet hair, then distribute evenly using a comb and gently massage. Leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

If, after using as directed, you are still experiencing oiliness, we suggest using less styling product. Apply a little at a time to prevent over-application.
