Comments about Laura Geller Spackle Mattifying Under Make-up Primer:

I recently moved from Colorado (dry heat) to Minnesota (humid). I've had a hard time with my makeup melting off my face. I've always had dry flaky skin and now it's more oily in my T-zone. I've loved the original spackle and thought this might do good too. I still get oil breakthrough but not as bad. Will continue to use but Spackle is one of the better primers I've used.

I have really bad oily skin and this helps me conceal it. I could just wear this as my coverup as well even though it's not super thick. I normal don't wear a ton of makeup as well

This stuff is awesome. You put it on and your face goes matte and looks very smooth. It lasted about 8-9 hours before I needed a touch up on my nose, but my nose is super oily! I was using UD primer but find this one works good for oily t-zone girls like me. I am currently using tarte med-full coverage foundation. Worth the money and you get more product for your buck!

Like most women, I have oily skin in my T zone area. No matter what I use I always get the infamous oily sheen on my nose, chin, and forehead. This primer does the trick! I use it all over my face, but concentrate it on the T zone. It keeps the sheen at bay and works well under any foundation. Do yourself a favor and buy this product.

Comments about Laura Geller Spackle Mattifying Under Make-up Primer:

Every Laura geller cream product of any sort that I've purchased (concealer and now this) separates... whenever I squeeze any of this out I have to shake it heavily first otherwise a gross amount of oily comes out before any product. Really gross. This happened with the concealer too. Even after shaking it a good amount of oil comes out and I have to wipe it off before I can put any product on my face, if it's that oily I wonder if I should even add it to my already semi oily face despite it labeling itself as mattifying. Laura gellar has been quite disappointing to me unfortunately

                      A:

Yes, there is a very small amount of silicone in this primer. I have used it on clients with the most sensitive skin and it has not irritated anyone or made them break out. It also contains skin loving ingredients like botanicals and antioxidants, so I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

I have oily skin with large pores, should I put a day moisturizer on before the primer? It doesn't seem to go on as matte as I would like after moisturizer and when I put my foundation on my makeup looks very cakey and shows my poors and wrinkles more. FYI, I'm 60 years old!

                      A:

We always recommend using your regular moisturizer before most Spackles. The Spackle will lock in that moisture, helping your skin stay nice and hydrated throughout the day. However, there are no rules! Because this is a mattefying Spackle and has somewhat of a different consistency, try using this as your first step, and then moisturizer and then makeup. You will probably notice that the mattefying Spackle will do it's job much better. Keep up the great work- 60 and loving it! Enjoy!

I am sorry, this prier is not paraben free. We have some Spackle formulas that are paraben free: Spackle SPF, Spackle Supercharged, Spackle Neutralizer, and Spackle Champagne.

This primer is not drying at all, however it is not designed to add any extra hydration to the skin. I would recommend using your regular moisturizer first, and then use the mattifying Spackle to ensure your skin receives the hydration that it needs.

I'm looking for a product to control oil so that I can go without foundation at times. My skin gets too oily to have this option currently. Will this look natural or have a "chalky" look. Is there another product to try instead

                      A:

What is the overall level of your skin tone? If you are fair, light, or medium, this product will blend in perfectly with your skin and will not look chalky or ashy. If you have a deeper skin tone, I have seen this product have a slight ashy finish. This product does works great, however my recommendation is to try another Spackle, and then to finish your look with Laura Geller's Matte Maker Mattefying powder. This will eliminate all shine and oil without adding any makeup. It's a great last step, and you can take it on the go to eliminate the oil throughout the day. This product does not show up and it does not build. Enjoy! http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod2240033

Yes. All of our Spackles retexturize the surface of your skin so the makeup you put on top of it will glide on nice and smooth. It will do a great job at slightly filling in any lines, wrinkles, pores, and acne scars.

You got it! Spackle primer locks in moisture, helping keep the skin nice and hydrated throughout the day. So use moisturizer first and then the primer. I like to think of Spackle as the last step of my skincare process and the first step of my makeup :-)

This primer has a very slight peach tint. It is very sheer and almost looks clear when you apply it. But the ever so slight peach will start to color correct the complexion.

This product is oil-free and it will help with oil control throughout the day. It's loaded with botanicals aloe Vera and chamomile and anti-oxidants white tea and centella asiatica, so there really isn't anything in there that should break you out. All of the ingredients listed help protect the skin from free radical damage and help the skin in so many ways. If you have oily skin, this is the perfect Spackle primer to try! If you don't have oily skin, any of the Spackles will be a great fit. They all have the same wonderful ingredients and are oil free. Enjoy!
