Comments about Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Pore Minimizing:

I have large pores and oily skin. I pair this primer with a foundation made by Smashbox and my make up slides right off. The primer feels awesome at first so maybe that's why I loved it so much in the store. I can still see my pores and my face is shiny throughout the day. I tried the original primer at first and I can safely say this product acts the same as the original. Do not recommend for oily skin.

Comments about Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Pore Minimizing:

I thought I'd try the Pore Minimizing version of the Photo Finish Foundation primer and was very disappointed with the results. First, it made my skin extremely oily and shiny after only two hours. After three or four hours, it looked like my foundation was melting or sliding off, I had patches where the foundation was still there, some patches where the foundation was gone. It was worse than if I hadn't used primer at all. By the time I got home from work, my forehead had several new blemishes and the pores on my nose were filled with oily foundation. UGH! I had to wash my face twice (even though I was using a Clarisonic!) to feel clean. I totally do not recommend this version of the Photo Finish.

Would this work for dry skin? Also, what's the difference between this one and the original "Smashbox Photo Finish Primer?'' I thought they were both meant to blur pores/imperfections? I'm not sure on which one to get.

Hi There! Pore Minimizing Primer works best on combination to oily skin types. Photo Finish Primer will definitely blur pores/imperfections. If your main concern is dry skin we suggest layering Photo Finish Primer over a moisturizer.

Rather than this product, we recommend using the Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer, developed specifically for the under eye area, which sets the stage for flawless concealer application and helps reduce the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles in as little as 8 weeks:

I'm 32 and have sensitive, acne prone skin that also has problems with oil and shine (and I get dry patches if I don't use a light moisturizer). I've tried the regular Smashbox primer and, although it makes my makeup look amazing at first, I still get very shiny and it also causes me to break out. Next, I bought the Smashbox Light formula, and it makes me a little less shiny, and doesn't cause the breakouts but, it doesn't make my makeup look at great as the regular, and I still get a bit shiny.
Would this pore minimizing primer be better for me than the light formula? Or is it not recomended for acne prone skin?

Yes, that makes sense - this is very common for combination skin types. This primer is formulated for all skin types and helps to smooth skin texture and minimize the appearance of pores. For best results, we suggest exfoliating 2-3x weekly to eliminate any flaky dryness, and first applying a lightweight oil-free moisturizer prior to your primer. We hope these tips help!

Pore Minimizing Primer makes an 8-hour claim – DRAMATICALLY reduces the appearance of pores instantly and for up to 8 hours. Pore Minimizing also absorbs oil and can be used over makeup as well. First step and last step.

Pore Minimizing Primer is also good for someone who is very oil, with extremely large pores.
