Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I love the Hot Tool with the metal barrel which I have been using for four years. I went to replace the product which they did not have. The salesperson suggested I purchase this one. My hair would not stay in the barrel and the ceramic did not heat up as well as the metal barrel.

Great curling iron even for thick hair. Leaves hair shiny and glossy. Heat is effective so you don't have to leave your hair in the curling iron for more than a few seconds.

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

If I hadn't thrown the box away prior to using the product, I would have returned it! I was sure it was going to be awesome, so I threw the box away, and used the product a few days later. The curling iron "spring" is what I think might be the problem, the barrel of the curling iron does not close completely when I put my hair in it, so my hair slides right through, so frustrating! I paid a lot for it, and the cheaper ones were so much easier to use! I wanted one that would be better for my hair.

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I have always had a 1" curling iron and it gave me great ringlets but there was too much technique involved to get that 1" to give me waves. I decided to go with the 1.5" barrel because I was afraid that the 1.25" would not be very different from the 1" I already had.

I thought this was a super good buy for the price and it gives me EXACTLY the wave I am looking for. I have very long thick hair and so it takes me about 15 minutes to get through all of it but it comes out perfect every time.

The only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because I need to use it on the top temperatures for it to stick, anything less of a setting doesn't hold.

I bought this because I thought it would perform well (including pulling smoothly through my hair). Not the case. I used it to style my hair once, and there wasn't one section of hair (no matter how small) that it didn't snag through. Everything else about it seemed to be great. Going back...

I heard great things about this product and thought I would give it a try, it was even recommended by the girls in the Ulta Salon. When I got home I was excited to try it out, until I realized how awful it was. It yanked my hair, instead of allowing it to glide through the clamp smoothly and ended up leaving my hair frizzy. Plus the curls didn't even last that long. I have never had trouble getting my hair to curl and hold it before. Not worth the money, the hassle or the frizz.

That is correct, this tool is not dual voltage. This tool is designed to operate at US standard voltage 120V. Hot Tools does not advise to use it with a converter, as it may damage the tool.

The NanoCeramic material of the barrel is ideal for color-treated, damaged, or over-processed hair. NanoCeramic means that there are finer particles of ceramic that are used in making the surface of the iron for a smoother surface that glides across hair more easily and heats more evenly. For long hair like yours, to create loose waves, we'd suggest using either the 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" barrel size.
