Comments about bareMinerals bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

Loved that I didn't need to use much product to cover my face, but was very disappointed that the coverage did not last long at all. By midday not only had the product left the building, but areas of my face such as my chin felt so greasy which is not the norm for me. Putting more product on to increase coverage at the onset doesn't work either...just makes a mess. Product smells awful too. So much potential for greatness with this one, but it failed badly. First time I've ever disliked a BareMinerals product. With aging skin the powder foundation was starting to look to cakey and made-up so this was a major breakthrough in foundation. Too bad it's an epic fail.

Comments about bareMinerals bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

I normally use Hydroxatone BB Cream, which is a very think full coverage BB cream. I wanted to try something different so I thought that this would be the best of both worlds. Not so! It looks very cakey and builds up in the eye brows even with extra attention there when applying. It builds up in the creases of my face and by mid-day I'm looking like an oil slick! It wasn't for me at all. I may try the new complexion rescue tinted gel. I prefer something that kind of soaks into my face rather than sits on top of it.

Comments about bareMinerals bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

I tried using a brush, and yes I have an expensive brush, but it left streaks. A sponge works better. I was looking for a product with a simple application, but it was recommended to shake bottle before applying each dab on the brush. The bottle is very stiff and requires a strong grip to squeeze out a dab. When I tested out the makeup at the store, I didn't try squeezing the bottle myself. The beauty consultant did all the work. Lesson learned.

I used the Bare minerals loose powder foundation for some years and decided to try the liquid as my skin has become drier. I am very happy with this change. My skin feel hydrated and very smooth. i can control the amount of coverage easily, it covers the slight redness I have very well.

The bottle dispensing the foundation is hard and it's difficult to get the liquid out. A softer squeeze bottle would be very helpful.

I love bare minerals but I always have a mess with the mineral powder. I love that this liquid only takes about 3 drops for my whole face and does not leave a mess. The look is similar and maybe "brighter" than the matte for me. Love this decision. My family is tired of hearing about it.

How does this foundation differ from bare minerals complexion rescue?
What brush is best to use with this product?
Asked on 4/3/2015 by Jin from San Diego CA

          1 answer

          • Staff Reviewer

            A:

The most noticeable difference is the consistency of each. Complexion Rescue features a gel cream texture, while bareSkin features a fluid texture. Complexion Rescue provides sheer-to-medium coverage, while bareSkin provides buildable sheer-to-full coverage. Both provide skincare benefits: Complexion Rescue provides an incredible boost of hydration, while bareSkin helps fade dark spots and discoloration over time. Both also provide broad spectrum SPF 30 sun protection. We hope this info helps! We definitely recommend testing both products at your nearest ULTA store:
            http://www.ulta.com/ulta/stores/storelocator.jsp

For the Complexion Rescue, we recommend applying using the bareMinerals Smoothing Face Brush for best results:
            http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod11771037

For the bareSkin Foundation, we recommend using the bareMinerals Perfecting Face Brush for best results:

Because this product is made with the bare minimum ingredients and formulated without oil, silicone, parabens or fragrance, it is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin. For those with rosacea, we recommend first patch testing; apply a small amount of product to an inconspicuous area of skin to ensure you experience no irritation before applying as directed, or please consult your physician prior to use.
