Broke me OUT!!

Comments about bareMinerals bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

Let me preface this by saying, I don't get acne. Like, ever. I recently got a sample of this foundation and was really excited to try it because I normally love Bare Minerals products! It was the only thing I changed up in my makeup routine besides a new Tarte cheek stain. After using this foundation sample about 3-4 times, I noticed I was starting to get pimples! I was really shocked by this because I normally don't get any, and very rarely do I get more than one pimple at one time. I know it wasn't the cheek stain because the pimples were in places that I only put foundation on, like right above my upper lip, above my eyebrow on my forehead, my chin, and two places on my nose!!

On top of getting pimples, this foundation is greasy and slimy to the touch. Don't even think about applying it with your fingers because it feels disgusting! I have normal/dry skin and for a foundation to accomplish getting my skin GREASY and cause me to BREAK OUT is really hard. Well, congratulations Bareskin, because you did just that. Really disappointed with this foundation sample. I heard it has coconut oil in it which apparently causes break outs, so I guess I'll be steering clear of any foundation with coconut oil in it.

Comments about bareMinerals bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

I wanted to love this product. I've had it for about a month and a half and have used it almost every day. I was drawn to this product because I like Bare Minerals powder foundation, but it's a bit drying to my skin. I thought this make up would give me the fabulous coverage I'd come to expect from BM, but with a hydrating formula. Meh. That's the best I can say about the product.

The product feels fabulous; it is nearly weightless. However, I find it very difficult to apply with an even coverage. I've tried pairing it with all different types of moisturizers and primers, I've tried going without a moisturizer or primer, and I've tried setting it with a variety of powders. Nothing I do makes this make up cover well or stay on. It's patchy. I blend and buff it into my skin, and, from a distance, it looks fine. However, when I check it closer up, I can see it settling into my fine lines. I'm 27; I don't HAVE fine lines! It creases under my eyes, it pools around my nose, and it becomes spotted and patchy anywhere I have a slightly enlarged pore. Even when I set it when a powder, I can wipe the make up off of my face with little effort. By the time I get to work (maybe 45 minutes after I've put on make up), I'm shiny and I can tell that the product has shifted around on my face. I don't have oily skin; I've got combination skin, but this make up makes my T-zone look like a teenager's. By lunch, I don't even look like I have make up on and by the end of the day, I'm a blotchy, runny mess. On days that I powdered it, it becomes patchy and flakey (the product does, not my skin).

I've stuck with the product--every morning as I put it on I think today might be the day it looks good. Meh. I never do. I feel like I've wasted so much money on this product.

I just wanted to like it so much. I'm extremely sad to say that I can't.

Comments about bareMinerals bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

I purchased this product for $29 from my local Ulta. I was completely dissatisfied with this product. I have clear skin with bags under my eyes that aren't very noticeable, and this product failed to cover them up. The texture of this foundation is very watery, and you are supposed to shake it well, which makes it significantly more watery. I do not have oily skin and this product made my skin very shiny and greasy-looking. The product rubs off during the day and my skin looks no different with it on, aside from the greasy look. It is definitely not worth the hype. On top of that, when I went to go exchange the product, they said that they were unable to give me back the full value of the product. So they only took $14 off the total of the products that I chose to exchange the product with. Will never be buying again, and would NOT recommend for those who even would like the slightest bit of coverage. I purchase the Tarte full coverage foundation. Hopefully I'll have better luck with this one!

I was very disappointed with this product. It did not work for my skin at all. It took my skin weeks to recover from this product. It broke me out all over my face and it didn't last throughout the day. However, my mother and sister loved it. I think it's a good product for normal skin that isn't acne prone.

I wrote a review of the Bare Skin Foundation when it first came out a few months ago, and although I said I'd recommend it, I had an overall negative opinion on the product. Well, I'm here to tell you that my opinion of this foundation has done a complete 180 and I will never use another foundation other than this! With the right technique, this foundation provides customized coverage and stays on all day. I use primer underneath, then use 2 drops on each side of my face (closing the bottle and shaking well before each time I put a drop on the brush), and it applies so smoothly with the perfect coverage. I then top it off with Mineral Veil to set it and it stays all day. The formula separates in the bottle, so it's important to shake it every time before using it or else it will feel greasy like others have mentioned. I have also noticed a difference in my skin since I have been using it, and the SPF 20 is always a plus! All in all, the best liquid foundation I've tried.

This foundation doesn't cover very well, sticks in wrinkles and pores, feels very greasy and comes off on everything. Also has a very unpleasant ash undertone which tends to deaden, not brighten, the skin. I used Bare Beige 8, can't judge any other formula. Definitely not worth the money.

I have combination skin and finding a foundation that won't accent the dry patches and cause an oil slick in the oiler patches can be difficult for me. This foundation is light which I like but it's also kind of greasy. It's very easy to have to much on.. It blends ok, but if you have too much on the brush it will not blend into the skin. It just sits on top. My biggest issue with this product is the packaging. I am not sure if anyone else has had this issue, but my bottle leaks every time I open it. No matter how I store it (on its side/right side up) whenever I open the lid the product just oozes out of the top. I have lost so much product because of this and it's absolutely not cheap, so I am pretty bummed at the amount of money lost every time I open the bottle. When I purchased this the salesperson told me it was called "liquid photoshop" and I just don't think I can agree. A lot of hype on a product that needs some serious improvement.

I use this product for a month- it felt greasy after 10hrs on. I did use the mineral veil over top. I applied it with the brush every time . Half way thru my day I saw where it melted into my skin. I couldn't wait to take it off.

Primer is optional, though because this foundation is not very moisturizing, we do suggest first applying moisturizer. bareSkin features built-in SPF 20 for sun protection!

For best results and smoothest application, we recommend applying powder formula concealers like bareMinerals Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Concealer over bareSkin Foundation. Cream/liquid formula concealers like bareMinerals Correcting Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 can be applied over or under bareSkin.
