Comments about Banana Boat Dark Tanning Oil:

I've been using this 20+ years without any problems. I love that this product isn't as greasy or as heavy feeling as baby oil. Yes this is going to feel a little bit greasy being that it is an oil. On top of everything it has a great smell.

If you develope red bumps go see your doctor. I've had something that sounds like what some of the people that have reviewed on here have had. The ichy red bumps on my chest, under arms and inner thighs(called Prickly Heat) from a heavy oil based body butter I was using. My dematolagist said that almost anything can cause this. What happens is that sweat is trapped in the pores. Red ichy bumps are the result. My doctor told me to make sure the body is clean and free of sweat before applying an oil based product to the skin. Otherwise my guess would be that the tanning oil is too heavy for their pores and that they should use a tanning lotion or a tanning oil derived from other lighter types of oils. If in doubt test an area of your skin, before applying all over your body.

My skin is generally not sensitive or allergy prone. I've tried to use this product multiple times and each time it has made me develop nasty rashes and itchy red bumps everywhere. I don't recommend this at all.

Comments about Banana Boat Dark Tanning Oil:

I bought this a while ago thinking ill be a big shot at the pool with oil all over my body and get the best tan. I went tanning a couple times in the sun and nothing much happened different than would usually. Recently ive discovered tanning beds and while searching for what products to use and not use in a tanning bed, i discovered that mineral oil is the worst thing you could put on your skin if you want to tan...it actually strips the skin and diminishes your tan! I thought of this product, checking the bottle thinking no way something that supposed to help you tan will have mineral oil in it! but sure as .... there it was! thats the only reason im not using it anymore, otherwise the smell is great and it looks really sexy on.

I love the way this oil feels and smells. It soaks into the skin leaving a satin finish, not a thick greasy baby oil feel. It also leaves my skin in good condition.

Comments about Banana Boat Dark Tanning Oil:

I bought this last weekend and saw an immediate increase in my tan. Used it at the pool and it just skyrocketed my color. Looks great, very natural. Obviously it's greasy, but what tanning oil isn't? I had no issues with rashes or irritation. I've gotten many compliments on my tan. I think it's because of this product. Overall, very pleased.
