Hoping I just got a defective brush, but won't try another. Expected more for the price, but it broke the first time I used it. Will have to stick with what I have that is not portable. Very frustrating as retractable lip brushes are few to be found.

It's not easy to find a lip brush, and this was one of the few available. It is high quality and reasonably priced. I especially needed one that could be put in my purse, and this one closes up so that the bristles are protected and don't get lipstick all over my purse. I highly recommend it.
