I usually use Got 2 B Ultra Glued styling gel, but thought I'd try this out because it costs less. I like to put gel on my damp hair and then blow dry, in order to get thick wave curls that hold all day. The Ultra Glued gel did a better job of chunking and holding my curls/waves with less product. However, the Spiked Up Max Control gives a nice soft finish.

Bought this for my fiance to see if it'll do a great job spiking his hair for our upcoming wedding. I need his hair to look good for the entire day. He put it through a full day test: 8 hours at work then evening basketball game. His hair still looked freshly spiked after the sweaty game. Pros: lasting power. Cons: Very stiff, not soft when I touched his hair.

I use this for volume at the roots before blowdrying. My hairdresser had me purchase a $20 product that she swore would hold anything--I went back to this because it is so much better!
