Comments about Ultra CHI Red 1 Inch Ceramic Flat Iron:

I bought this as a birthday gift for my best friend, but of course I had to give it a try (after she opened it...duh!). It was very lightweight, but it heats up fast and is very effective at straightning hair and providing shine. I have somewhat straight hair naturally, so I used this for a few minutes to tame some "poofiness" and it was great!

Comments about Ultra CHI Red 1 Inch Ceramic Flat Iron:

I bought this product after my original CHI died after a few good years. I never had any problems with my old one but this CHI Ultra did not live up to my standards. I don't feel like it is getting hot enough and it will semi-straighten my hair but after 20 minutes it's back to be wavy and crazy. I would not recommend this product. I still am using it till I decide which straightener to exchange it for. Really am so disappointed with this flat iron.

Great Iron for the cost. I think you need to spend at least $75 for a good flat iron. This product works well on my fine, curly hair. I only used it once, so I hope it holds up like my last FHI flat iron I had for 7 years.

Comments about Ultra CHI Red 1 Inch Ceramic Flat Iron:

I have pretty thick hair that is very wavy and cheap flat irons do nothing for it. I've had my Chi for a year and I don't like it at all. My hair was elbow length for awhile. The Chi could not hold it's heat and it would take a half hour+ to straighten and I'd still end up with wavy parts. A couple months ago I cut my hair to chin length. It still takes a good 20 minutes to straighten my hair as I have to go over each section numerous times. If you have thick hair and don't want to spend a lot of time styling it each morning, I don't recommend this flat iron.

I'm planning on bringing my CHI with me to the U.K. One of the previous questions stated that the voltage is 110-240V. Does this mean that my CHI will still work with only a power adapter and not a power converter? I love my CHI and I don't want it to explode in the U.K. due to voltage conversion!

CHI irons have ceramic-coated and ceramic-infused plates made with the optimal amount of ceramic to provide proper heat transfer. An iron with a plate of 100% ceramic would result in a plate that is more likely to chip, crack or break.

I didn't see anything in the instructions that suggested that this is normal. Can you tell me if it is supposed to blink/flash? Thanks.
