I have used this since introduced to it by a cosmetics salesperson in 1978. It can be expensive but I learned early on to use a very light coat, and wipe the residual off my fingers into the container - triples the life of the product. I never use any other shave cream.

I recommend use of this product on a cleanly scrubbed face. The product goes on smooth and easy. My skin feels cool and refreshed while I get the closest and cleanest shave. Rinse off is quick! Ask my wife!

I have used the Lab Series shaving cream since it was introduced many years ago under the name "Absolute Comfort Shaving Cream". While I believe the current product remains the best on the market, its forerunner was even more effective in helping to make the shaving experience comfortable and in helping keep a clogged free razor and drain.

This was a great product. Unfortunately, about a year ago, Lab Series eliminated its standout ingredient -- the numbing agent Benzocaine -- out of liability concerns. The result is a product that no longer has the "cooling" effect when you first place it on your skin, and no longer offers as great a shave. It's a more-watery product, which makes for a messier shave, but also makes it easier to actually clean your razor (the old, thicker formula ofted acted like glue when you rinsed your blade). People who have never used this item will think it's terrific, as it's still the best stuff out there compared to other off-the-shelf shave creams (which is why I still use it, despite the increased number of nicks and scrapes). But anyone who remembers the "A" formula will be greatly disappointed. I'm not alone in this feeling; check out product reviews anywhere else and you'll read much more of the same. Buyer beware.
