Works Well for Long Hair

Comments about Hot Tools Thermal Self-Grip Rollers:

When I first bought velcro rollers, I went for the cheapies with the plastic centers and they worked okay, but I mainly just use one now for my bangs. I saw these and decided to step it up a tick but only bought one pack, even though I have long hair, to test them out. They work very well! The only thing is that because I have such long hair, they take longer to work, which is not a criticism at all toward the rollers but rather a fact of life. Still, I am impressed with how much umph I get at my roots and how gently my hair curls at the ends. And.....it stays!! I would definitely recommend and will have to buy more so I can put up all my hair, maybe in a larger size if it's available.

Excellent for thin/fine hair

Comments about Hot Tools Thermal Self-Grip Rollers:

I have very thin, fine hair and this helps give me volume. When I am in a hurry I roll my dry hair and use the hair dryer for about 5 minutes and it works well.

Why Note??

Comments about Hot Tools Thermal Self-Grip Rollers:

I originally bought one pack of these and they give me great hold - I blow dry my hair straight, spray and tease the roots, then curl the ends, then wrap up the curl to the base of my scalp. Once cooled, I take them out and the curl/volume holds all day! Perfect, cheap solution for me.

Not what I expected

Pros

    Cons

    • Didn't even create slight volume
    • Don't hold hardly any hair
    • They come loose, Velcro doesn't secure well

Comments about Hot Tools Thermal Self-Grip Rollers:

I thought these rollers would give my hair volume and got them mainly for my bangs. But they hood a very little amount of hair and even after keeping them in for half an hour and blow drying, when I took them out, I didn't even have a slight curl. Dissappointed. Will be returning.

      Volumizing

Comments about Hot Tools Thermal Self-Grip Rollers:

I bought these hoping to avoid using clips because they usually leave kinks in my very fine hair. If I didn't move while they were in place they pretty much stayed put, but I have a daughter and not moving for 20 minutes is unrealistic and I ended up pinning them anyway. They work just as well as any other velcro roller.

How do you heat these rollers? Why are they called "thermal"?
Asked on 2/26/2016 by Hair care lover

          A:

          1. Apply rollers to damp hair.
          2. Comb-through each section when applying. 2" sections for fine hair or 1.5" for thicker hair.
          3. Use a blow dryer to dry each section. The thermal center of the rollers will distribute heat evenly and help you dry hair faster.
          4. Let your hair cool completely.
          5. Take the rollers out and brush hair or style as desired.
