Comments about The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Mattifying Lotion:

Works great! This is the best mattifying lotion that I have tried. And I have tried a lot. I have very oily skin and this does help. Don't get me wrong, I still get oily but not as bad.

      Too Matte

      By Franks

Comments about The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Mattifying Lotion:

I try to avoid using this moisturizer because it leaves my skin dry and with a faint white cast on my face. If I am forced to use this moisturizer, i either use very little or pair it with another moisturizer. Im currently on the hunt for other moisturizers

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE

          By Kat

          from Houston, Tx

Comments about The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Mattifying Lotion:

Seriously, I've been searching for years for the perfect matte moisturizer that doesn't make my skin feel all greasy by the end of the day. I have acne prone/oily/sensitive skin and this stuff has cleared up my acne so much that everyone has made comments on how well my skin looks lately! It does have a specific tea tree oil smell (which I personally like) but it wears off right after you put it on. If you have skin like me, you need this product!

Comments about The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Mattifying Lotion:

This product really helped me with my oily skin. I have super oily skin and would always just leave my face un-moisturized for the day after I wash it in the morning. It would actually cause acne because of not giving my skin the needed moisture but I would still be fairly oily around my T zone as girls say.

With a regular moisturerizer you risk breakouts, with this product you get a moisturized face, almost no acne after the 1st-2nd week, a matte face, and blemishes fade after awhile. I'd recommend this as a good facial lotion to anyone with oily skin or combination skin. In no way is this drying plus it's all natural. This is my second purchase of this item. It's awesome. 6/5 stars.

I read all the reviews on here good and bad and decided to give this a try.. the smell isn't the best but I can live with it I have been looking for something that will control oil and I have found it! I washed my face with the cleanser and I put this lotion on my face and was amazed how good it combated the oil I was literally checking my face the whole day and I had very minimal oil and it didn't dry out my skin..I will try as a primer underneath makeup since it worked so well .

Comments about The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Mattifying Lotion:

I have combination skin so unfortunately it dries out the parts of my face which are already dry (around my mouth area). It doesn't really hydrate but it does make the skin feel fresh and clean. And if u don't know tea tree oil it has a very strong leafy smell so if you don't like that then don't get it. But after you put foundation on you don't smell it anymore.
I use the face wash, face scrub, and toner in this tea tree line and I love those products for my acne.

I really like this product. Usually I use it before my moisturizer lotion and I feel that this helps to control excessive oiliness on my face with a matte finish. But I cannot use it alone, cause it dries out my skin.

They change the formula from what I originally got in the sample tree tea oil kit. They now have the mattifying lotion and the nighttime lotion. I preferred the original formula as this one seems to be a bit more drying. It could be that I am using it in winter now.

                  Cause Cystic Acne Breakout

                  By Raven

                  from Maryland

Comments about The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Mattifying Lotion:

Really irritates me when products claim to help prevent blemishes and actually cause them. I should have known better to try without first looking at the ingredients and received a not so nice cystic/nodular blemish. After looking at the ingredients, I found Laureth-4 to be the culprit. Laureth-4 ranks the highest, 5, on the comedogenic scale for clogging pores. If you are not familiar with Isopropyl Myristate and its Chemical Cousins, here is a few words on it:

One of the worse offenders is a penetrating oil called isopropyl myristate, the major ingredient in a can of penetrating rust remover, Liquid Wrench. Isopropyl myristate helps cosmetics apply more smoothly and gives them a slicker, sheer feel. This particular penetrating oil is so aggressive that if left over night in a beaker will actually migrate over the top, down the sides and onto the table top. There are many chemicals similar to isopropyl myristate in cosmetics.

The most common are: isopropyl palmitate, isopropyl isothermal, putty stearate, isostearyl neopentonate, myristyl myristate, decyl oleate, octyl sterate, octyl palmitate and isocetyl stearate and PPG myristyl propionate. All must be avoided, as must other surfactants such as laureth 4.

Thank you for contacting The Body Shop. Just to clarify, we do not carry a Mattifying Day Cream within the Tea Tree range. Mattifying Day Cream is part of the Seaweed range. If you do a search on the Ulta website for Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream. The product packaging will say Seaweed Oil Control Gel Cream, but it is the same product.

Thank you for contacting The Body Shop. I recommend reviewing the ingredient listing for Tea Tree Skin Mattifying Lotion with your dermatologist. My guess is that they are fine when combined together, but it's best to speak to your physician. The ingredients are detailed here: Water, Cyclomethicone, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Acrylamide/Ammonium Acrylate Copolymer, Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil, Polyisobutene, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Salix Alba Extract, Polysorbate 20, Sorbitan Isostearate, Sodium Hydroxide, Limonene, Laureth-4, Citral, Leptospermum Petersonii (Lemon Tea Tree) Oil, Tocopherol.

Thank you for contacting The Body Shop. Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream is a lightweight, hydrating moisture cream that is recommended for combination oily/dry skin. If your skin is very oily and you only experience minimal breakouts, I would recommend Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion which is perfect for controlling oil. Additionally, you might enjoy Tea Tree Oil for targeted treatment of blemishes.

Thank you for contacting The Body Shop. There is not a clarifying lotion in the Tea Tree Range. The Seaweed range features both a Clarifying Toner and a Clarifying Night Treatment. They are not the same - Tea Tree is recommended for oily skin with frequent blemishes and clogged pores. Seaweed is suitable for combination to oily skin with visible pores, and a shiny t-zone.
