Comments about L'Oréal Superior Preference Glam Lights:

Sally's Beauty Supply has a product called Blonde made by Clairol that I will recommend if you have trouble with L'Oreal color. Home coloring is difficult. The Blonde product work well with pulling small strands of hair threw the cap. If you have grey hairs try a color close to your own at the roots only after doing the highlighting.Continue using a great conditioner. For best results, see your hairdresser every other time. The local beauty college is a great place to visit if you are on budget.

Comments about L'Oréal Superior Preference Glam Lights:

This product is ultimately too strong of a product to be used at home by a non-professional. I purchased this product twice, the first time leaving it on the minimum time of 20 minutes with very natural and safe results. I waited 6 weeks to touch up my roots, leaving the product on longer to get more dramatic results. Every day since, my hair has been breaking off and my hair is dangerously thin right now. It has brought me to tears, as I thought my hair was actually falling out. I then realized that it was breaking off because I had over-processed my hair. I will not be repurchasing this product because I do not want any more hair to break off. I am now in the process of restoring my broken hair with deep conditioning treatments.

Why did you discontinue this L'Oreal!?

    By rose1023

Comments about L'Oréal Superior Preference Glam Lights:

I cannot believe you already discontinue this product, it worked great and all over the internet there are tons of reviews of people loving it. The product you put out I think to replace it is the Colorista Highlights but from everything I've seen people hate it, I'm not going to risk a bad experience and try it on my hair. Please bring this product back in color GL70 especially!

I have colored dark brown hair. Followed the direction and Apply this highlight on for about 45 minutes. It looks good, nature highlight. Not as great and salon result but great for the price.

Comments about L'Oréal Superior Preference Glam Lights:

      This product did just as it said. I have medium brown hair that's virgin so it colored the right shade. The only thing is the directions say to fill in the ends of your hair to make it look more natural, I did this on my long locks, but I wish I hadn't bc it looks more ombré. I would have preferred just the streaks only. There is a great YouTube video to demonstrate this product ;
Type in "go bronde! With Louise Follain"
I found this most helpful. It's what helped me choose what product to use for lighter sunkissed streaks.
My hair is soft and I don't see any damage, but I use biologe hair products bc to me they keep my hair healthy and long.
      Enjoy!

Comments about L'Oréal Superior Preference Glam Lights:

I used this as more of a balayage instead of highlights for fear of messing up my hair. I pulled half my hair up then using the brush I started from the bottom tips of my hair and went about half way up (more or less on others). I made sure the ends were saturated with color and less was used as I went further up. I only did this on about 2/3 of my hair as I didn't want it to look to "done" Took the rest of my hair down and did the same thing to much smaller pieces. Rinsed it out and the color was BEAUTIFUL, ends were very light brown/blond and faded to my natural medium brown red hair. No brassy color, hair was still in great condition.
-Make sure you test the strands first and keep an eye on them. (mine took 45 mins)
-I personally wouldn't use the brush for highlights as I could definitely see how it would be difficult to control

Comments about L'Oréal Superior Preference Glam Lights:

I went to Ulta last month for cut & color paid $175 and she did not even cover my very small area of grays. She used a toner and I did not like the color at all, it washed out a few weeks later and I was left with color I did not like. After paying that much money, I decided to put a few highlights in my hair to cover the gray & add some nice tone to my hair. Picked up this product, used it sparingly, light strokes, left in on 25 minutes, followed by a purple shampoo & deep condition and I have to say, my hair looks fantastic! Moral of the story avoid Ulta salon ( this is the 3rd time I have tried them and was unhappy with my color & they are way overpriced for what you get). I will know do my own highlights & save a ton of money! Thank you Loreal!!

The Preference Glam Lights is not intended to be used all over. It is a highlighter product. If you are looking for all over color we can suggest the Preference Haircolor.

I am a dark brown and will be using U color Italian demi color kit 8.43 light copper gold than applying this Loreal Superior Preference Glam Lights GL50. What will the outcome most likely be with these 2 products? Please any advice before I GoGo. Thank you.

                A:

Hi Angelina! Because U Color is not our brand, we are unsure what results this product this would give you. We do not recommend using highlights over demi-permanent haircolor. However, the Glam Lights will put beautiful highlights in your hair if you use it over your natural dark brown hair!

Hi there! This kit is designed to be used for highlights and not an all over color. If you are looking to bleach your brown hair, we would suggest to use one of our bleaching kits like our Feria Absolute Platinum.

                A:

Hi Franny! Unfortunately, this product is not going to give you medium brown highlights. It will most likely lighten to a caramel color, which is more of a warm, lighter brown/dark blonde shade. At this time, we do not offer a product that will provide you with medium brown highlights. We hope this answers your question!

                A:

Hello! The way that most of our haircolors work is that they can lighten your natural hair color by 2 shades and can also darken your natural hair as much dark as you'd like.

If you are a medium brown and have uncolored hair, the lightest you would be able to go is a dark blonde. If you wanted to go lighter than a dark blonde, you would have to use something with bleach in it. We have different all-over bleaching kits, like Feria Absolute Platinum. Another options is highlights, like our Superior Preference Glam Lights! We hope this answers your questions!
