CeraVe

Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Face Lotion SPF 50

Item #: 2267198 Size: 2.0 oz

Developed with dermatologists, CeraVe Sunscreen for Face is like no other sunscreen you've ever experienced. Enjoy powerful protection from the same zinc oxide trusted by lifeguards and dermatologists, now in a new lightweight formula that spreads easily and dries with a clear finish.

  • Ceramides help repair and restore the protective skin barrier.
  • Niacinamide helps the skin produce more natural ceramides and fatty acids essential for repairing and restoring the skin barrier. May also reduce skin redness.
  • Hyaluronic acid attracts moisture to the top layer of the skin.
  • High performance, water resistant sunscreen, suitable for all skin types, CeraVe Sunscreen is perfect for daily use on even the most sensitive skin.

Invisible Zinc technology uses a revolutionary naturally sourced micro-fine zinc oxide to deliver its unique dry, clear finish for powerful protection from the sun's damaging rays.

Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure.

Reapply:
  • After 40 minutes of swimming or sweating
  • Immediately after towel drying
  • At least every 2 hours
  • Children under 6 months: Ask a doctor
Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including:
  • Limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
  • Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses.

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Face Lotion SPF 50:

I have sensitive skin and can no longer use other sunscreen products meant for the face (had been using Neutrogena Ultrasheer Dry-touch and similar) since they burn my skin and cause red rashes. I have been using this for a few months now and have not had any negative reactions to it. I also am outside most of the day and have found that this product is good for about half the day with one liberal application.

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Face Lotion SPF 50:

Whole family hated it. Very gritty with very small sharp particles suspended in fluid. Tried shaking it up more but nothing helped. It was so scratchy that it irritated my face. It also doesn't rub in well, leaving behind a whitish residue. Sorry, but I don't want to look like my face has been white washed.

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Face Lotion SPF 50:

Bought this to wear everyday under my makeup. The texture is gritty--enough that I was worried about it being abrasive on my skin as I rubbed it in. It stung a bit but not too badly.

I used the prescribed amount and rubbed it in, and rubbed, and rubbed, and rubbed. It took a lot of hard rubbing to get it to sink into my skin. I still had to wipe it off of my the skin under and around my eyebrows and hairline because it wouldn't sink in there. Bit of a white cast on my skin too but that seemed to fade as the morning wore on and I put on makeup over it.

Bottom line: I wanted to love this: CeraVe, face lotion, high broad spectrum SPF. Cerave makes great products, but this isn't one of them. Will return.

I'm sure it's a good product for some....but for me it was too heavy and it gave my face a white/purple appearance. My quest for a usable face sunscreen continues.

This doesn't rub in well at all by itself, but I mix it with the CeraVe moisturizing lotion and then it blends in fine on my skin! Doesn't cause breakouts or ruin your foundation.

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Face Lotion SPF 50:

I have skin that is sometimes sensitive (mostly just breakouts), so I thought this would be a good choice for a sunscreen. Aside from the very whitish cast it leaves on your skin--something I've experienced before with zinc lotions, but could get past it--the main problem is that it made my skin sting soon after use. I had to wash it off. It did the same thing for one of my kids. I suspect it was the niacinamide, but I use Olay products that contain niacinamide and they don't bother my skin. Waste of money for me, won't buy again.

When I put this on after I cleaned my face and added moisturizer, I burst out in laughter. Do not I repeat do not do this to yourself girl If you have an ounce of melanin in your skin! I think that fairer complexions can possibly pull this off. I looked like I had been drowned for a week and they just fished me out of the sea. I am considering keeping this for Halloween so I can be a zombie, it is that noticeable. I left it on my ears and neck all day to see if it would absorb into my skin but it has not completely. I used the recommended amount on my face and neck.

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Face Lotion SPF 50:

There are very mixed reviews on this so I thought I would share my opinion about it. First of all I think this product would work best on normal to oily skin types. I have oily skin myself. This product dries down very nicely and it's super light and dries matte, I can see how this wouldn't work as well for dryer skins. It doesn't give much moisture (which is good for my skin type) but it has a good amount of spf and doesn't make my makeup look shiny. If you have dry skin I would suggest to get a more moisturizing product.

This product is thick, doesn't rub in well, and it isn't sheer or invisible at all. . I applied with my fingers, Beauty Blender, and a cosmetic sponge, but still left me feeling and looking chalky. I don't recommend you wear it under your make-up. It left me with a white, thick film. The smell didn't bother me at all. I wanted something to wear daily, but this is something I'd use for the beach or hiking.
