Developed with dermatologists, CeraVe Sunscreen for Face is like no other sunscreen you've ever experienced. Enjoy powerful protection from the same zinc oxide trusted by lifeguards and dermatologists, now in a new lightweight formula that spreads easily and dries with a clear finish.

  • Ceramides help repair and restore the protective skin barrier.
  • Niacinamide helps the skin produce more natural ceramides and fatty acids essential for repairing and restoring the skin barrier. May also reduce skin redness.
  • Hyaluronic acid attracts moisture to the top layer of the skin.
  • High performance, water resistant sunscreen, suitable for all skin types, CeraVe Sunscreen is perfect for daily use on even the most sensitive skin.

Invisible Zinc technology uses a revolutionary naturally sourced micro-fine zinc oxide to deliver its unique dry, clear finish for powerful protection from the sun's damaging rays.

Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure.

Reapply:
  • After 40 minutes of swimming or sweating
  • Immediately after towel drying
  • At least every 2 hours
  • Children under 6 months: Ask a doctor
Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including:
  • Limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
  • Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses.

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Face Lotion SPF 50:

I use this sunscreen under my makeup and set it with setting powder. It last all day long, protects my face and works well as a sunscreen/moisturizer under my makeup. I don't leave home without it because it really does protect the skin.

unless you want white all over your face..dont buy...it won't rub in and I'm not going to rub and rub skin to try to blend it...im fair and blue eyed..live in dry climate..have always worn sunscreen and still get skin cancer..however this product definately does not do it for daily facial everyday wear unless you go to the beach or hike and dont mind having a white face with thick cream sitting on top of it...so you look horrible.

Love this stuff because it improves skin tone and texture with the ceramides and niacinamide in it.
Makeup goes on really smoothly over it. My only complaint is that it looks a little chalky if you wear it without makeup (it does on me anyway -- olive skin), but I still give it 5 stars because it improves my skin overall. Would be even more amazing if they made a tinted version of this stuff!

              Used on the lips...

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Face Lotion SPF 50:

My mother has a lip condition where her lips peel and cannot be in the sun because the condition reacts to sun light. However, my mother has always been one to pick sun over shade and loved the outdoors. She was desperate to find a product to let her live her life in light; the spf chap sticks and lip balms didn't cut it. When we found this our worrying and frantic searching stopped. My mom can now enjoy the outdoors once again as long as she reapplies about every half an hour. The cons (why it lost a star) is that it ends up leaving a white residue all around her mouth and how often she needs to reapply. Other than that it's a great product and it's doing its job and protecting her lips from the sun.

FYI she only uses it on her lips not as a face or body sunscreen.

Comments about CeraVe Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Face Lotion SPF 50:

I was drawn to this product because I liked how the sunscreen had ceramides and niacinamide to help the skin. I thought it would be a good match for my dry, sensitive skin.

However, the sunscreen emphasized the appearance of all my dry, flaky patches and fine lines. When applied, it made my face look ten times lighter than my neck/chest. It also dries into this chalky texture that I didn't like.

I need something more moisturizing and natural-looking on my skin. If cerave makes one like that, I'll definitely try it out.

I used this at a golf out this weekend, and we were in the blazing sun for hours. The Cerave brand was recommended to me by my dermatologist, so I stuck with the brand for sunscreen, and am very happy I did. I also had a hat with brim on, but my face was fully protected throughout the days
