Comments about Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation:

heard it was great! was so excited to try, but I would say it's more light to medium coverage. I used it with the Smashbox Photo Finish primer, and it did not go on very smoothly. Coverage was build-able but very light. Beautiful color, but had to return. I have oily, sensitive skin with acne, bumps, and some scarring. It seemed to illuminate the bumps more than mask them. Had my roommate try it too, same reaction, different skin type.

I have been using this foundation for 3 years now and really have no complaints other than the price. I only recently ventured out to find a cheaper but similar foundation and so far the only one decently close is the Maybelline better then skin foundation, which was a little too matt for me. This foundation gives a nice natural semi dewy look which is perfect for my dry skin. I will say it looks better later through out the day, rather then first applying. Honestly some of my best pictures have been when I wear this foundation.

I have a really oily T-zone and my cheeks get super dry so it's hard to find a foundation that will work on my skin. This goes on so smoothly and my makeup blends perfectly on top of it. It doesn't transfer onto my clothes, it doesn't look dry or too oily, and it lasts all day. To make it last even longer, I put a light layer of powder on before applying my foundation. I love it!

Comments about Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation:

I have oily skin so I always use a oil control primer and when I used my regular primer (algenist) and this foundation it looks AWFUL! I then got a silicon primer (smashbox photo finish) and used it with this foundation and it looks so much better. I also think less is more with this foundation, I was originally using about 4 pumps to try and get full coverage and it looks so caked a gross on my skin, I now use 2 and it looks beautiful, lasts all day and give my oily skin a nice natural healthy dewy look.

I loved the sample. Was excited to own it when i bought the whole bottle but it gets very cakey at the end of the day. Not sure if its the primer i use (smashbox photo finish) but it looks like i have huge gross pores and it starts to look spotty. I will keep trying to figure out what it is.

I use this foundation in 1.2. I always moisturize my skin well and use primer prior to applying the product. I have heard a lot of good things about make up setting spray's. Would that be something that would be helpful with this product? And would I spray it on after putting on primer? (Which brand do you recommend?) Also I have been interested in learning to contour and highlight my face. I am still unclear on whether or not you can use contouring or highlighting with a foundation. Thank you for your help!

Hi There! It sounds like you are doing all the right things... Makeup setting sprays are an excellent way to prolong the wear of your makeup. We suggest using the Primer Water, by Smashbox, to refresh and set your makeup after you've applied your Smashbox Photo finish Primer and Studio Skin Foundation. Contour and highlight is can absolutely be used with a foundation. Apply it after foundation, but before setting your makeup with Primer Water.

Does this foundation have to be set with powder? Or can I just use a primer water to set it? I have oily skin but I do not plan on wearing the foundation for several hours, maybe 4 hours maximum. I would only use powder to set my t-zone.

Hi There! This foundation doesn't need to be set with a powder. A spritz of Primer Water or a light dusting of Halo powder is the perfect way to control oil throughout the day.
