Comments about Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner:

Here's the thing...I picked this up in store in the shade Deep Burgundy. I was looking for a burgundy liner for the water line and had heard good things about this one. I should have known from the moment I swatched it on my hand that this wouldn't work well for me. I swatched it on the back of my hand as I was walking around the store, contemplating my purchases, and by the time I was done it had smudged off almost completely (and I get that "smudge stick" is in the title, but so is waterproof. There was virtually nothing left of the initial swatch I'd applied). Regardless, the color was gorgeous and I got it anyway. I will say that the application was phenomenal. It didn't irritate my eyes, and the color was beautiful. However...it was gone COMPLETELY not even 2 hours later. I don't have watery eyes, I don't generally have problems with eyeliner staying (or at least, not to this degree). It hadn't smudged under my lashline or anything like that, it was as if I hadn't applied eyeliner at all. Nothing remained. Due to the way it wore on the back of my hand, I can't in good conscience recommend this for winged liner either. Steer clear from this product altogether. If you want a good recommendation for an eyeliner that WILL stay on your waterline all day, my top picks are anything from the Rimmel ScandalEyes line, or if you're like me and hoping to jump on the burgundy liner trend, I recommend the copper liner from Maybelline's eye studio line. It's not burgundy, but it does provide a more subtle version of the trend...oh, and both liners actually last on my eyes all day. They're what this liner wishes it could be.

I kept trying to use it, I really did.

It's clumpy and brittle. The stick kept breaking and it was very difficult to apply. Sad because I like the color (antique). Thumbs down.

Disappointed that it doesn't seem to last like I was told. I was looking for a waterproof eye liner that would not fade. So far I need to reapply or touch up for the evening. I love the color, ease of use and self sharpening.

I bought this based on a friend's blog recommendation.... I wouldn't buy it again because it ends up all over the eyes! It's smudges easily, but then continues to blur and run. I found myself cleaning up my eye throughout the day. For the big price it's a big disappointment!
