BB Tip 1: BB any way you want. Use it as a primer. Use it for light coverage. Use it however you see fit!

BB Tip 2: Don't use too much! Just a pea size will do. (Hint: if you need more coverage, see tip #3. No need for lots of layers.)

BB Tip 3: Looks great alone for quick, camera-ready skin. Or pair BB with your favorite foundation for more coverage. We adore it with Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder.

BB Tip 4: Have dry skin? Still moisturize first. Have oily/combination skin? BB is all you'll need.

BB Tip 5: Regular use will improve your skin! BB is loaded with anti-aging peptides for a decrease in fine lines over time, plus it guards against harmful rays with SPF 35.

This was the first time I tired a bb cream. It's nice, feels like you're wearing nothing. It can get a bit drying. If you have super dry skin it might be hard for you to not get dry patches around your face.

I like the lightweight coverage, but this isn't matte enough. I still find a need a primer underneath or powder on top - which somewhat defeats the purpose of tinted moisturizer.

great for my combo/acne prone skin

      By madi

Comments about Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 35:

I have tried endless face primers/creams/lotions and this is the ONLY thing that works perfectly for me. It feels so light on my face I can't even tell I'm wearing anything. I use this as a moisturizer/base type cream so I wouldn't say it necessarily helps your makeup stay on or covers imperfections. If you're just looking for something with light coverage this is definitely worth the money. It doesn't make my face break out and controls my oil better than anything else I've tried

Smashbox's Camera Ready BB cream has a primer built in so it will lock product on to the skin. Setting it with a powder will also help increase longevity.

Hi Carmela! While BB Cream is long lasting it does not claim to be waterproof. If your looking for a long wear foundation we suggest our Studio Skin Foundation paired with Photo Finish Primer. It will give you a 15 hour wear that will last and last.

                  A:

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream is not formulated with any resurfacing actives, so it is safe to use it in conjunction with your retinol cream. It's actually a good idea, since it provides SPF 35 sun protection, which is important when using retinol in your skincare regimen, as skin is more susceptible to sun damage. :-)

                1 answer

                • Staff Expert

                  A:

Great question! :-) The proper order of application depends on how you use BB!

Have dry skin? Still moisturize first, before applying BB. Have oily/combination skin? BB is all you'll need.

BB features the built-in benefits of a primer, so using an additional primer is optional. When using in conjunction with one of Smashbox's Photo Finish Primers, we recommend applying Photo Finish first (after moisturizing if you have dry skin) only to areas of concern such as the T-zone, then following with an all-over application of BB.

BB looks great alone for quick, camera-ready skin. Or pair BB with your favorite foundation for more coverage, applied on top of BB. We adore it with Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder.

                  Hope this helps! :-)
