Comments about Almay Smart Shade Skin Tone Matching Makeup:

I have been using the Smart Shade Light/Medium 200 Mousse foundation since they came out with it years ago. I Introduced it to many women who loved it. It was reasonably priced $11 to $14 depending on the store and many times could get buy one & get one half off.. Blended well to match your skin tone and stayed on all day for career women. Especially in Florida, it never ran or streaked when sweating in a humid climate. It was light and went on smoothly & had great flawless coverage. It was the best foundation flawless makeup I had ever found. Many women are furious that we cannot find it anywhere in the stores anymore. Almay needs to bring back that Mousse product and rethink about loosing many loyal customers. Ready to go on a Cruise with my company & want my make-up back.

I have used this product for years and absolutely loved it. They decided to do "new and improved" and it is awful. I will no longer purchase this product. I feel the same way as many individuals feel who have used this product and loved it and now feel that it is terrible. Yikes, I truly can't believe how they went so terribly wrong on this new and improved version. Actually, I can't say enough how horrible the product is now with their so called "new and improved" version.

            Unhapppy with New Improved Formula

Comments about Almay Smart Shade Skin Tone Matching Makeup:

I have purchased this product for years and loved it. However, the "new/improved" formula looks like mime makeup. I thought maybe I got a bad batch and sent a note to Almay. In response, they sent coupons for more Revlon products. I was hoping for an explanation or product equivalent. Too bad, it was a great product and I am puzzled as to what they were trying to achieve and why they thought they improved it. Sometimes ya gotta leave well enough alone.

Loved the original formula and used it for many years. Almay, unfortunately, has recently released a "new and improved" version. Within two days, it broke my skin out horribily. I hope they go back to the original formula, this new one does not blend as easily, feels gritty, and causes redness with breakouts.

I LOVED this product and used it for many years. This was perfect for my fair skin -- coverage without looking overdone or heavy. They recently changed the formula, though, and I can't use it anymore! It goes on completely white now, and takes much longer to rub in. It feels like there are tiny particles that weren't there before that now irritate my skin. Finally, the product feels much heavier/stickier than before, and my face feels gross! I have a feeling the zit on my chin after switching to the new formula isn't a coincidence. I'm disappointed I'll have to find a new everyday foundation.

Comments about Almay Smart Shade Skin Tone Matching Makeup:

I used to use this product in high school and loved it, years later i saw it coming back from reviews on youtube so i decided i would purchase it again; like before, i loved it the first few times i was using it. The color i purchase is light/pale. It blended into my skin perfectly and i loved the finish and light coverage it gave me. However, its been a few weeks since ive used it and i did shake it before applying it, poured it into my fingers and the color was normal.. however when i started bleding it into my face it was completely dark orange... and my face was about 4 shades darker than my neck. Needless to say i cant use it anymore and i only had gotten a few uses out of it before this happened so I wont be repurchasing it:(

Comments about Almay Smart Shade Skin Tone Matching Makeup:

So ULTA's website still has the original version of this for sale. The original is AMAZING. It's so lightweight it feels like there is nothing on the skin. Easy to apply with fingers, like a moisturizer. SPF 15, no smell, didn't break me out. Was my GO TO everyday base. HOWEVER, Almay just reformulated this product and the new product is awful. I bought the new formula at an ULTA store last week. First, they removed the claim that it is hypo-allergenic. Second, the new formula stinks. Smells like burnt hair mixed with a little SPF. Not pleasant. Third, it doesn't sink in to the skin, just sits on top and finds its way into every fine line. It's also oddly greasy and matte at the same time. I tried to suck it up and use it hoping it was just my imagination, but sadly it is not. I had a tube of the old version lying around and I compared the two. Bottom line: if you love this product snag the OG formula and stock up because the new formula is garbage.

Comments about Almay Smart Shade Skin Tone Matching Makeup:

Chose the middle shade, but a little too dark for me right now. I'm going to hold on it for later this spring when I get some more sun. This is the second time I've bought the smart match, and I really like the product. It is fairly easy to apply, but I do prefer using a blender sponge, which is not conducive to this kind of foundation. I would recommend applying with fingertips. Coverage is light-medium and natural! I prefer this over full-coverage, but if you want a full-coverage make-up, this is not it. Its a little too drying for this time of year. Foundation does dry down quickly, which is helpful when getting ready in the AM. Seems to stay put for most of the work day. It might be prone to oxidizing as it did get a little orange over time.
